They're both talented songwriters who can perform their own songs live to a very high standard. For that they get my respect over the vast majority of artists who are essentially glorified karaoke singers. 

Fair points well made. Perhaps I should have said over exposed. That is not their fault. A bit like the media obsession with certain football clubs.

It doesnt sit right with me that our first statue will be our owner rather than a player or even a manager.

 

Up there with Kroenke being handed the Vince Lombardi to lift instead of the players in last weekend's Superbowl.

You look at all that's happened in this past decade and still hold that opinion?  Fair play but for me I can understand the disappointment that we've not had any statues erected previously, definitely think there should have been a couple up before this stage in our history but we're here now and if our first statue has to come in 2022 then a Vichai thumbs up is about as perfect a candidate as you could get imo.

 

I also strongly disagree with the opinion floated in another thread that it should be relegated to the memorial garden, it almost comes across as though some people would like to play down his impact on the club's fortunes.

The old one doesn't really stand out as anything different or special. The current one, along with things like the Snooker theme, Grandstand, Cricket theme, Grand National are all iconic and instantly recognisable.

All those tunes you mentioned are good. I just think MOD music does not reflect the excitement of football. The Big Match which covered London area for ITV was superior

Matt Smith. Us getting beat 1-0 by Preston at home on a shit pitch. Stadium 2/3 full at best. No atmosphere. Highlights lasting 30 seconds. This programme being obsessed by anything Warnock, Cardiff or QPR.

 

theme tune did fit well though

theme tune did fit well though

My lasting memory was watching the repeat on Sunday morning, hungover and seeing some absolute screamers in League 2 because the defending and goalkeeping was so shit.
