Although Agbonhalor was wrong in his Vardy comments, there is one incorrect point thrown at him about him neverbeing as good as Vardy.

How good someone was at football does not equate to their ability to be a pundit. Equally pundits are allowed to give opinions on players better than they ever were, its borderline insane to think thats not permitted.

Some crap ex players or non players are brilliant pundits, some are awful.

Likewise with great ex players.

He is just doing his job and attracting listeners / clicks.  Not worth getting upset about.

What is worth getting sad about is that levels of journalistic integrity have dropped that far though.

Gabby Agbonlahor isn't individually responsible and isn't worth getting that upset about but TalkSPORT's whole MO is depressing and I'm not sure we should wave it away as "they're just doing their job, it makes money."

To me it shows how poor the media coverage has become that Agbonlahor gets a decent position in the sector.

He's not entertaining, informative, insightful- a complete waste of time.

I thought the "war" thread, followed by the "conflict" thread were actually pretty decent in terms of exchanging views, concerns, opinions and reasonings, with some truly excellent contributions from some very well informed and balanced posters.

Artificial grass companies should be made illegal and anyone with an artificial lawn should be sent to prison for life.

The same punishment should also apply to Brits who move to areas of hot countries where water is scarce, and who insist on maintaining a real lawn.

Honestly it absolutely drives me crazy. So many people who either have no idea how irresponsible it is or simply don't care. Water here is often at drought levels, so many of us make loads of effort to conserve and recycle what we use, then you get people trying to replicate their uk garden. Cvnts.

You could extend that to the entire principle of human attitude towards the environment/conservation, tbh.

Talksport is just clickbait, dogwhistle bullshit.

I'm constantly amazed at how popular it is

Depends on what constituency you live in.

It’s only a waste of time for so many people because we use a broken, 17th century First Past the Post voting system designed for a time when it took weeks to get to London on horseback for many people and they just sent someone a few times a year to speak for what was happening in their constituency. And we haven’t bothered updating it in 300 years despite the invention of modern travel and communication.

It’s not a waste of time for all the more civilised countries who abandoned FPTP decades or centuries ago when it became apparent it wasn’t at all representative and barely democratic.

This.

Totally direct democracy on every matter isn't the answer either, but why the UK sticks with FPTP when so many better systems exist in terms of franchisement irks me. It doesn't baffle me, because I know exactly why it doesn't change - the status quo suits the existing powers that be and they don't want it to change.

Spot on, red or blue, doesn't matter they're all corrupt bastards

That the choice is implied just to be between "red or blue" in terms of anything actually getting done kinda highlights the key failure of the FPTP system, really.

I agree but even then, you've got to be a special kind of **** to get involved in politics
