It doesnt sit right with me that our first statue will be our owner rather than a player or even a manager.

Up there with Kroenke being handed the Vince Lombardi to lift instead of the players in last weekend's Superbowl.

I actually agree with you. I fully acknowledge that the club wouldn't be where it is without the owners, but ultimately the players and the managers are the ones that determine the outcome of football matches and deliver the iconic moments.

The Snooker theme was my party piece on guitar for years.

The piece was called Drag Racer IIRC.

Here's a five minute documentary the BBC did on the bloke who wrote the music. Composed by an American who'd never heard of snooker!

I have never watched an episode of Peaky Blinders. Just don't fancy it  I know it is very popular

I know it's just entertainment but didn't really like the glorification of gang violence.

Nah that was "The Championship".

Used to watch that every Sunday morning.

I might be wrong but i think the tune used there was a track called 'regret' by new order. Have a listen chap see what you think?

Regret brings back so many happy 90s memories getting ready to watch a match.

'Central Match Live' wasn't it?

'You are the number one' was the theme before it I think?

Bit confused. I posted the actual intro to the championship and you reply with a video of a completely irrelevant song as if that's proof that it was actually the intro song :dunno:

Fox92 never said the intro was to either show was anything other than Beautiful Day by U2.

Bloody hell, Regret by New Order sounds identical to Beautiful Day by U2. Don't know which came out first but they'll be fuming when they find out they've been ripped off.

I think possibly that's the track fox92 was referring to

Noooo, I meant Beautiful Day by U2 but Regret by New Order is a good song.

I see where your're coming from. It's in the same vein I guess, but musically I don't think that there's a significant amount of similarity. 'Regret' preceded 'Beautiful Day' by around seven or eight years.

You have given me an idea for a thread though.

Ah ok fox, i remember the footy prog that used the u2 song, but there was another programme on itv unsure of the title and it used new orders regret track, so that was likely early 90s, the u2 track/prog

Was around year 2000.

Maybe somebody here knows the footy programme i mean?

I don't think that's an unpopular opinion, just a statement :D

Cheers. I was under impression that almost all love this programme.

I’ve been forced to watch it and can’t say it’s all that tbh.I find it hard to take the lead man seriously (can’t remember his name) as in his earlier roles he always  came across as a bit of a wet lettuce
