Can anyone clear this up ..   I thought Brady went in with intent but then came off worse, although there has been no real comment on it either in the papers or on the TV.
On BT Sport, Chris Sutton said Brady should have been sent off. Graham Poll laughed at Sutton and said he was talking nonsense.

That was an odd one. The ref was stood there with his yellow card in hand and then decided not to use it after all.

Yeah, the ref definitely had his card out initially. I wondered if he thought it was adding insult to injury (literally) once he realised the extent of the injury.

From where I was sitting it looked to me like he certainly meant it. I haven't seen a replay, but the general consensus near me at the time was that if he'd hurt himself it was his own fault. Obviously wouldn't wish a serious injury on anyone though.

I agree but he certainly tried to cripple Harry (imo) so ...    Well you know what I mean ...

Yes I do. Had it been our Harry being stretchered off, which was a very likely outcome given the tackle, Brady would most certainly have received a card, and rightly so. Because it didn't come off the way Brady intended meant that no card was shown. But the intent was still there, so regardless of the outcome the ref shouldn't change his decision, which he clearly did given that he had a card out, and then changed his mind.

They have drawn at Spurs and lpool and won at Chelsea - their only defeat on the road was at Man City. Whatever they have been doing has been effective thus far! They have yet to play yanited.

Their play first half was very effective - puel made a couple of tactical changes at half time which put us more on the front foot and they then had to chase the game more which negated their numerical advantage in the middle. they lack some quality up front and squad depth. we should show a little more humility.

Hmmm. Maybe so, but I thought it was all a bit predictable.. and second half bar one real chance it was all one way.

Red might have been a bit much tbf. Clear yellow though - lunged at Maguire and it's his own fault hes injured himself

Was thinking myself it was a bad attempt at a challenge. But given the injury, it may have been that his studs got caught in the turf causing him to follow through.

I'm not surprised he followed thru personally

Thought the ref had given a penalty at first!

Brady caught Maguire alright. Not the worst challenge I have witnessed but wouldnt have been far off a yellow. Brady did a bit of a bit of a Gazza v Forest on it though it seems.

He should have issued a yellow as he was leaving the pitch.

Don't think harry was too impressed either and looked like he might react until he realised it was someone he played with at hull.

I thought Burnley were relatively tidy in the first half but their game plan was obvious. Hit the wide men and either win a corner or cross it in... Brady occasionally tried to find a way into the penalty area... but to no real avail. Their “passing” football that some of the pundits have been creaming over was all in ineffective areas of the pitch, we could have done that if we wanted. We deserved the win, and probably should have won by more. They will inevitably slip down the table once they come up against better opposition as they did yesterday.

Better opposition than Leicester? Haha...we've played Man City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Spurs AWAY....5 points from 12. All four are better teams than Leicester.

I wasn’t impressed at all, and now Brady looks to be injured you will slip as he seemed to be your only creative outlet. Your football was predictable and we didn’t cave into your bullish approach. You’re an average side on a half decent run. We will finish points clear of you come the seasons end. It’s academic.

I think Puel has had a great start, of course we don't wanna get ahead of ourselves too early he's only been in the job what a month? When people compare him with Dyche i'm afraid there's no comparison at the moment, Dyche at the moment has took a championship squad to 7th in the Premier League.

Match itself first despite the goal, we were quite slow to get into. Second half we looked a lot stronger and hungrier. Felt 1-0 flattered Burnley to be honest. Guess we caught them on a off day.

Yes...a very "off day" for us - our second worst performance of the season after the 0-0 home draw against Huddersfield. Leicester were deserved winners but we had 3 games in 6 days so the Foxes had an extra two days' rest having played on the previous Friday at West Ham (3 games in 8 days).

I think you will see a better Burnley at Turf Moor in April after we strengthen in the January window.

That’s a BIG win. We are are starting to get some confidence moving the ball on the ground and our overall belief appears to be growing. If that injury to Brady has him out for a while Burnley will struggle to hold their position in the League.

Cannot wait to see Silva playing in this team.

Up until the Arsenal match on November 26, Brady had been Burnley's WEAK LINK this season with poor set pieces and erratic passing. We got good results when we were virtually "carrying" Brady as a passenger. Add to that, we'll be signing at least one winger (wideman) in January - maybe Aaron Lennon plus some foreigner whose name escapes me.

Tbf, their keeper looks a really good prospect.

You could argue his mistake cost us a point - even though we did not deserve one.

But so far, Pope has been a good understudy for Heaton, who instils more confidence in the back four.
