I think you could well be right.

I'll admit, I haven't seen much of Burnley this season, but there really hasn't been that much between the bottom 15 clubs so far this season. It wouldn't have been difficult for any one of them to have a run of form and sit in 6th. I won't be in the least bit surprised to see them fall away.

Maguire MotM

Should've killed them off in the last 20mins, Vardy in particular. Iborra was dynamic, energetic, clever, willing and able. N'Didi looked knackered and surprised he finished the 90.

Burnley were truly on top until Brady went off, after that they didn't offer much. Great win though, back to back against Top10 :)

I dont particularly think burnley threatened us much at all tbh. i never thought they were on top at any point...

They've probably got enough points to make relegation a remote possibility (sadly)

I think that's a tad harsh tbh ... I think he has done a fantastic job with the resources available to him.

I thought Burnley were the better side until Brady got injured .

the quality of their crosses primarily from Brady was excellent. Shame we didn't get him in the summer.

Just got home from the match, a 300 mile journey. Great win and another3 points.

Thought the first half was poor, losing the ball too often and stray passes with not much energy., Far better in the second half Albrighton as usual ran himself into the ground, never giving up on anything. Thought Maguire was really good, for a young player, he is very calm and composed. With Puels's track record with young players, he will have a great future

Life must be so hard if you're Sean Dyche.

If every single little thing that rightly or wrongly goes against you is cause for complaint, how do you get through life? When he hits a red light does he throw his hands up and laugh sarcastically? When he goes to bed and wonders if he's locked the front door does he throw his hands up in the air and turn to his wife in feigned bemusement?

I am sure Dyche will be graceful in defeat!

It seemed every time I saw him, he was moaning about anything.

Can't imagine what his team talks are like, probably bang on about the same old thing etc.

Maguire was very composed and strong, and has a great future if he can keep that sort of performance up.

Ndidi seemed like hit-and-miss again.

Fear for Iheanacho as really thought he was here be be a near-guaranteed match-starter but appears overlooked at the moment.

Harsh ?!? Where have I been harsh all I’ve said is I don’t rate him, his team are horrible to watch and let’s see where they are at the end of the season . Nothing harsh there

Why are they horrible to watch ??

In terms of populous they are probably one of the smallest clubs in the entire football league

but still have a rich football history.

.......... become a bit of football snob since we won the league ???

Excellent performance all round today. How we didn't score more than one goal I'll never know. Could quite easily have been four or five.

I can see why Burnley are where they are in the league, their work rate is phenomenal. Whilst we matched them in that department, not many teams in this league will be able to cope with that level of desire and determination to contest evey ball. I'll certainly be interested to see if they can sustain that over the full duration of the season.

I thought we started brightly and obviously managed to get our noses in front very early into the game. For the following twenty five minutes or so we then sat deep and invited Burnley on to us which resulted in them trying to bombard us with crosses into the box which didn't really cause us too many problems and seemed a little odd as with Vokes and Barnes on the bench they didn't really possess the right personnel on the field of play to capitalise on the balls coming into the box. As others have mentioned, Brady then went off which massively reduced the quality and frequency of the deliveries into the box, and allowed us to manage the game better in order to close out the first half.

After the break, we were all over Burnley from the moment the referee restarted the game, and created chance after chance. My biggest gripe from today's performance was that we need to start converting more of the chances we are creating. We got away with it today as Burnley hardly created anything of note second half, but on another day against better quality opposition we'll ccertainly be made to pay for our lack of clinical finishing.

What really has impressed me over the past few games is how quickly Puel has tightened up our defence in the relatively short time he's been at the club. We now look extremely solid at the back and no longer look like a team that needs to score a minimum of three goals a game in order to pick up some points.

Also the work rate from both Mahrez and Gray has increased massively. Gray put in a real shift today and even seemed to chase a couple of lost causes which he was never interested in doing previously.

I think the early indications are good, and I can see us potentially knocking on the door of a Europa League spot if we can maintain this level of performance. Add the fact that we have Silva to come into the mix and no doubt a couple of additional signings I think we have the potential to become a bit of a nuisance to those sides who are currently occupying the top six or seven league positions. I think we have a very bright future ahead and I've been extremely impressed with Puel's contribution so far.

Vardy needs to stop fcuking about with the fancy flicks and just put the ball in the back of the net.

What you mean like the one against Germany :D

He's an instinctive finisher of course it doesn't always come off - what about the one against Spurs as well!

Because 90% of what they did was hoof, foul then whinge about nothing to the ref? I honestly can't remember them playing anything that could be described as football - they got the ball then immediately chucked it into maguire for us to have back.

After a decent little run of results (excluding the city game) i can't believe we are still 5 points behind Burnley and only 2 ahead of Everton. Until their 2 wins this week, Everton have been pathetic this season and it just shows that the gaps in the league are small. A couple of wins and you're up in the top 10 and a couple of defeats and you can be back down towards the relegation places.

Just to me all they are is a hard  working team with no real guil or Spark except for Brady who looked decent until he went off after that they looked a much  poorer team  with no real ideas on how to undo us . Probably the most comfortable I’ve felt with only the 1 goal advantage in a long time . And what has the size of their populous got to do with how  they play . And as for being a football snob are you having a laugh I’ve been supporting Leicester since the early 80s and seen some of the dross we’ve serve up .

Maguire motm. Dealt with everything and sets up attacks with his passes out from the back. This lad should be on that plane to Russia next June

I also think it’s time Chilwell became our starting left back. Yes he still has a lot to learn defensively but he’s great going forwards and I don’t think Fuchs is doing enough to keep him out of the team.

Liking the midfield partnership of Wilf and Iborra. Wilf has bundles of energy and power and Iborra is so classy with the ball although he did get caught in possession a couple of times today. It will be interesting to see who drops out or if Puel makes a tactical change to get Silva in the team.

The Albrighton, Gray and Mahrez combination worked very nicely today and is probably our best option in these sort of home games. Shinji seems to get the best out of Vardy but I feel we look better with these 3 playing

impressed with them.

i was a bit peed off with our shinji sub being so delayed. There was a break for injury (Simpson I think) after about 78 mins and after the break of about 90 seconds, we then decided to tell shinji to get stripped and he came on after 83 mins.

Sometimes it just looks as though things take us by surprise.  we didn't seem prepared on Tuesday for Spurs to get one back and we also seemed a bit confused what to do today once they brought volkes on - surely they plan for these things ??

Thought it was a bit of a gamble bringing Shinji on personally. Team was playing so well in the second half and in unison that it could have caused a disruption in our flowing football. Unless it's an injury or tactical or to break up the game in added time, it can cause problems. Spurs scored straight after our substition on Tuesdsy. If Burnley had equalised Puel would have come in for criticism.

Not sure I follow about the surprise remark, we must have been prepared in case Spuds scored as we closed the game out ok, plus bringing on Vokes today would have been our preferable option as whilst a willing worker, he is nothing more than a championship striker.

One moment summed up his and their moaning in general. The ball went out for a city through. Their player picked the ball up and chucked it over our players head and it bounced off behind him. Dyche throws his hands up about us taking so long on the throw in.... yet the delay was entirely his own players fault for being a dick.

Two wins in a week - the players can certainly enjoy their Christmas party excursion abroad. Hopefully (for them) they won't post photos on social media - like they did in Copenhagen two years ago - at least until they're coming home.

Agreed. They had nothing about them. Just a big team playing for set peices.

Best second half performance since Puel took charge

Agree with this. Personally I thought the first half was poor. We started well and scored a fortuitous goal and then just became so utterly negative and invited them on to us time after time. Chilwell was caught out of position on several occasions allowing dangerous crosses to go into our box. Brady's delivery was excellent and they had at least 3 free headers but fortunately for us couldn't score. The turning point was Brady's injury. They seemd to lose a bit of confidence at that point and the delivery into our penalty area dried up. Frankly  the Birch shouting into his microphone at half time was more entertaining than the first half.

Don't know what was said at half time but we played the second half in a much more positive way , mainly on the front foot and should have been clear of them by the end instead of suffering a few anxious moments. The second half was actually entertaining and we played some good stuff but at times our attacks looked disjointed and players didn't seem to know where to go whilst other times it was excellent.

Still an excellent result and points are what is needed so a decent day in the end.

Fully beleive that that position is now Chillwells to lose. Puel isnt interested in guaranteeing positions for the established/popular players like others have been, he's picking his teams according to his tactics and their form, so Fuchs only gets back in now if Chillwells form is poor, he gets injured or Puel decides to push Chillwell back up the left midfield position to suit his tactics for a given game.

So....

Won 5, Lost 5, Drawn 5. For 20, Against 20. Slap bang mid table 20 points and need 20 points more. After the bonkers last few seasons maybe a dull , but pleasingly symetrical, year is completely unexpected.

They were fine first half but in the second half channelled mid 90s Wimbledon. Dyche’s effort to find an equaliser was to put two 6ft 3 lads on. As he did so it he told his players, ‘head’ gesturing at his head. Another day with such a backbone less ref, they could have had six yellows

He bemoans about ‘british coaching’ but if there’s your Plan B then, that’s why you aren’t been chasing for other jobs.
