Countryfox Posted 2 December 2017 Posted 2 December 2017 For those (like me) that thought Shinji should have started ... Puel said (in his own sweet way) we need to keep trying different options and rotating as we have a small squad ... He spoke to Shinji and explained that. Can't fault the guy to be honest ... even if I don't understand half the things he's saying ...
dynamark Posted 2 December 2017 Posted 2 December 2017 As mentioned we needed Shinzi 10 minutes earlier ,Puel bless him doesn't seem to have confidence in the subs but hey the new blonde lad looks quite handy we should try to sign him permanent. He was just giving it full chat very good player.

They were putting some fantastic balls into the box and winning everything in the air, and it was only a matter of time. It was pretty clear to see how they've got themselves into the position they're currently in. However, we held on and came out a whole new side in the second half. Ndidi in particular was a completely different player, Chilwell too. Based on that second half alone, that should have been 3/4-0. Great stuff. The only real criticism I have of Puel so far is that he seems a bit slow making the subs, when it was getting clear that someone like Shinji coming on would have caused a bit more panic in their defense and given our own defenders a little bit more time to get in position before Burnley could construct any sort of attack. That being said, though, we got the full 3 points (again) so clearly Puel knows what he's doing. With Silva, possible Ben Arfa and maybe one or two others coming in in January, I'm very excited to see how we progress from here on in. Have to disagree with the substitution comment, at least as far as this game was concerned. We were absolutely rampant in the 2H, dicey to start fiddling with substitutions when your team has that firm a grasp on the game. Thought he brought Shinji on at the perfect time, gave us a good lift of energy late to see out the best scoreless 2H I have seen from us in ages. Still attacking in stoppage time when we're up 1-0? Love it, good offense is often the best defense.
yorkie1999 Posted 2 December 2017 Posted 2 December 2017 Good result in what’s, for me, felt like the longest game of football ever played, and not because of edge of the seat stuff . It was just a case of our defence were better than their attack

I thought that was great. I think he realised he needed to do something in case he got pulled off ... CP has got em on their toes ...
ARTY_FOX Posted 2 December 2017 Posted 2 December 2017 Thought we played really well today. Should have put the game to bed and we were unlucky a couple of times not to score more. They're no push overs either so really good result. Also Dyche us the mardiest manager ever. Even contested a throw in a Burnley player booted out right in front of him the melt. Ashley Barnes was also his disgusting despicable self. He's a stain on the game.
Ric Flair Posted 2 December 2017 Posted 2 December 2017 I thought that was our best performance under Puel, even better than vs Tottenham as I think Burnley played well but we stepped it up 2nd half and were very good. There's genuine optimism right now, I thought dropping Okazaki was fairly harsh and a gamble but it was further proof of Puel's tactics and his desire to develop us in a way we've not seen in previous regimes. The 3 of Albrighton, Gray and Mahrez were at times exceptional in that 2nd half. Mahrez was vintage and the work rate of Albrighton shows he's back to his best from a shocking first 10 games of the season. Gray was interchanging with Mahrez very well and I can see what Puel is trying to do, it's so difficult for the opposition to nullify both. My only slight concern is we still need to develop this formation and style with Vardy who's not getting anywhere near the amount of balls to him as in the past, it'll hopefully come in time though. Its been a great week.

Fox92 Posted 2 December 2017 Posted 2 December 2017 You lot that wanted Dyche, even over Puel, can fvck off. Shit tactics, shit football. I'd hate to watch that every week.
SouthStandUpperTier Posted 2 December 2017 Posted 2 December 2017 Riyad gunna launch his music career? Looks like a boy band member or justin bieber.TAKE THAT Burnley! We're NSYNC now and there's only ONE DIRECTION we're headed.
katieakita Posted 2 December 2017 Posted 2 December 2017 Good win against a side on top of their game that play as a unit and come with a plan. Still so early for the manager just 6 games into his City career and still finding out who he has and what they offer the team with a classy midfielder to come in a month. For all the stick aimed their way for appointing Puel he looks a far better bet than Fat Sam, Pardew , Coleman or Mr Dyche
Dan Posted 2 December 2017 Posted 2 December 2017 I like Puel I do. Very little I can criticise him on so far. We needed to win that. If we want to get back into Europe then we needed to win today and we did. Deserved it overall I'd say. Strangely our goal came in probably our worst period of the game. Burnley noticeably worse without Brady on the pitch. Second half was all us really. We should've definitely doubled our lead but it wouldn't be Leicester if we didn't force ourselves to hold on. Deserved win. Two very good ones in a week where I'd have taken four points. Onto the Geordies.

Larry_LCFC Posted 2 December 2017 Posted 2 December 2017 I don't understand why with a busy Christmas period coming up, we run our players into the ground for 90 minutes. Make some substitutions ffs. Okazaki should have been on much earlier.
Hammo Posted 2 December 2017 Posted 2 December 2017 Was so nice to see so much good football - if alas no goals - down the Kop End (where I sit) in the second half rather than nervously watching us sitting deep and defending the lead at the other end. As against Spurs, every player contributed positively in what was a really good team effort (bravo Claude) but Mahrez gets my MotM - he was electrifying on the ball - with Maguire (colossal in defence) and Albrighton (worked so hard) not far behind. More clinical finishing would have crowned a really impressive performance. Onwards and upwards...
Guest ttfn Posted 2 December 2017 Posted 2 December 2017 Life must be so hard if you're Sean Dyche. If every single little thing that rightly or wrongly goes against you is cause for complaint, how do you get through life? When he hits a red light does he throw his hands up and laugh sarcastically? When he goes to bed and wonders if he's locked the front door does he throw his hands up in the air and turn to his wife in feigned bemusement?

It was to be Puel....Doesnt s top me appreviating another teams manager, doesnt stop him doing a good job.Has it looks with the last few weeks Twists turns. Burnley, Everton, Southampton , Watford and ourselves, will be tussling and competing for those cream 8-5th positions. Throw in thd 2 north London clubs has late bottlers, could well be a very interesting last 3rd of the season, a great run in from end of Febuary... Before then though, there is still alot of work and consilidating to do. It looks like Getting Puel, means it has a good chance of being a very enjoyable journey

I just don’t think he will be as high in the table come end of the season and i think his teams football is horrible to watch
Sampson Posted 2 December 2017 Posted 2 December 2017 Great second half. Should've won by more in the end.The mantra of Leicester fans for the past 18 months (including myself) has been "Mahrez, Gray and Albrighton can't play in the same side" but Puel is managing it. All 3 were excellent again today.Really enjoying what I've seen under Puel so far.
Woof Posted 2 December 2017 Posted 2 December 2017 I can't remember seeing us play out a 1-0 like that for a long time. Instead of the usual backs to the wall approach we absolutely battered them in the 2nd half. They have an excellent well organised defence but how we managed to not score I don't know!

Always Next Year Posted 2 December 2017 Posted 2 December 2017 Vardy needs to stop fcuking about with the fancy flicks and just put the ball in the back of the net.
