Burnley (H) Post Match Thread 1 - 0

If Brady hadn't gone off injured, I would've put money on us going into half time level at least. They were putting some fantastic balls into the box and winning everything in the air, and it was only a matter of time. It was pretty clear to see how they've got themselves into the position they're currently in.

However, we held on and came out a whole new side in the second half. Ndidi in particular was a completely different player, Chilwell too. Based on that second half alone, that should have been 3/4-0.

Great stuff.

The only real criticism I have of Puel so far is that he seems a bit slow making the subs, when it was getting clear that someone like Shinji coming on would have caused a bit more panic in their defense and given our own defenders a little bit more time to get in position before Burnley could construct any sort of attack. That being said, though, we got the full 3 points (again) so clearly Puel knows what he's doing. With Silva, possible Ben Arfa and maybe one or two others coming in in January, I'm very excited to see how we progress from here on in.

I agree - but today we were bossing it so much 2nd half I don't think the sub was needed. It feels with him as though he is watching the same game as us. Haven't felt that for a while (definitely not under Shakey).

Excellent stuff. CMs fantastic, Chilwell clear MOTM, Morgan and Maguire composed.

Looked good going forward and defensively solud against a dangerous, organised team!

Pleased! Keep it up lads.

Oh no, I agree. I would have made the sub sooner personally, but we definitely did have the momentum and I can understand not wanting to disrupt that.

Absolutely spot on with that second point though, which is brilliant to see. Very, very optimistic.

There ya go.....

I like Puel. He don't say much on his interviews but he is no mug.

Tactically we are miles above where we were under Shakespeare

I had my reservations about Puel but to be fair so far so good

up the Foxes

great win today

Claude Puel -- embodiment of the FoxesTalk collective brain  !

really enjoyed that.

i watched a lot of dyche on the touchline and I've never EVER seen someone moan so much about every, EVERY single thing that happened against his team on the pitch.

literally spent the entire 90 minutes doing this:

I can appreciate what he's done at Burnley and even thought he'd do well here up until Puel was appointed but **** having that moaning **** anywhere near our club any time soon. Embarrassment of a man.

I enjoyed today and the Spuds game. Its nice to be able to watch a match and enjoy it, rather than sit there dumfounded at the abject, turgid performances that I seem to have watched over the past year or so.

Feels a bit more like 'Us'.

Bring on the Geordies...:scarf:

I always thought that was a turd rolled in glitter...

Well  I must admit "FT collective brain" is either an oxymoron, or an impossibility ...

that post above about Dyche made me remember another point - EVERY burnley player thru their arms up ANY time something happened.  99% of the time they were obvious clean plays.  That grinds my gears.

No. The collective brain is only a fraction of FT. Most of it is bollocks.

Just got in and came on here to say pretty much the same thing. I'd almost forgotten what it felt like to enjoy watching us.

Hope Brady is OK, I didn't see him move after he went down, it's never nice to watch someone stretchered off.

Wasn't able to watch/keep up with the game but this is making good reading!

It was SO important to beat Burnley. It says a lot about this team. In the second half we played some genuinely lovely football.

Yes he had a very good game but I'd say MOTM is between Maguire and Ndidi

Ndidi or Albrighton for me with Albrighton just shading it ...

He was whipping in some superb balls that we struggled to deal with. Beyond that Burnley hardly created a chance. Just lots of balls into our box. If we had our shooting boots on it would have won at least 3-0. We can catch these lot and get Europa.

We could do with Brady taking our corners, he's a weapon in that position, no doubt.

Albrighton put through some sublime passes. By the way sorry to go off topic - but this Arse Manure match is pretty epic. It's hilarious!

one other thing that really stuck out to me at the time.  at the 40 min mark we were looking pretty lethargic.  mahrez gave a loose pass away and burnley got it at midfield.  gray kind of "snapped into it" and I think realized we were a bit flat and chased down the ball thru 4 different passes all the way to the opposite side of the field and won a throw in.  I thought that was great.
