Got a whole day in London to myself on Tuesday so hoping to tick off some places before a curry at Brigadiers later.

I'm going to be in Waterloo and Covent Garden. Was thinking Kings Arms, The Harp and maybe the Lyric. If anyone has any other suggestions that would be great.

More a summer suggestion (because of the bus in the beer garden) but the Old bank of England pub on Fleet Street is worth a detour .  See also the Salisbury pub on St Martins Lane.

I haven't done the pubs over that side, looks like there's a few good ones. Is the beer selection decent in the Bath? Saw European Bar Guide was there recently.

Bar was rammed so I didn't see all of it, mostly standard as far as I could tell. The range is almost besides the point at somewhere like that though.

Started at Canal House, then went to the Kean's Head, King Billy, Bath Inn,  Malt Cross, Rescue Rooms for a gig , capped of by Bodega and The  Blind Rabbit (?). My head is still mush now.

Coach & Horses on Greek St in Soho is worth a look and about 5 mins walk (?) from the Lyric (which is great) if you're ticking that off. Make sure you get the right Coach & Horses though, it's a Fuller's pub with a red front – there's another one round that way that's a pretty homogenised bland Greene King gaff!

I've never been in The Old Coffee House that way but it looks right up my street and is an independent.

Good shout re old coffee house, decent boozer. Alongside jam pot as a London pub you have to tick off for historical reasons

Does the Old Coffee House still have Brodie's Ales? Used to really like those. Used to serve them also at Cross Keys in Covent Garden which is another beautiful and unique pub.

Thanks all! I just ended up going to The Harp and Savoy Tap, both decent enough but nothing special. Was paying £7 for Cask in the Harp! Not even particularly strong or fancy stuff either...

A decent couple of Tigers in The Globe last night on a rare trip into the city (non matchday).

Not much life around town unfortunately. The Christmas market was a comedown after going to Sheff and Notts recently.

Sheff one this year is really good, far better than previous years.

Today I complete my 5th of 5 corporate Xmas lunches. It’s been a real shift over the last few days. I can report the Guinness was flowing well around Leadenhall Market.

I now genuinely need some peaceful time now and sleep. I have lived too many days like Alan Brazil

Northern Monks A Little Faith was a very very nice pint! Introduced a colleague to a pint of Jaipur from Thornbridge which seemed to flow too well for a working lunch lol

Today I learned that Joe Joe's are the Trader Joe version of Oreos and they decided to make a stout. Tasted a bit too overwhelmingly sweet at first but enjoyed it.

All this stout talk is making me extremely thirsty. There anywhere in Leicester that actually have a decent one on draught?

I bet the Castle and Two Tailed Lion have decent offerings.

The Castle always has Titanic Plumb porter on which although not a stout is banging.

They also occasionally have a keg offering on.

The Blue Boar 100% will have at least two and TTL should have something
