Haven't been for a few years and I heard the cask selection is not quite as good as it used to be, but it's a beautiful old bar.

Yes, I just opted for a Tennant's when I went in there.

I’m off to York next weekend so they’re useful, was just going to do European Bar Guide’s crawl which I guess is similar.

Pound-for-pound looks like it’s one of the best.

The Market Cat in York (Pivni/Thornbridge) is the absolute gold standard in how to do a new pub imo.

Interesting video and would love to get my hands on the 1970s Leicestershire real ale guide lol. I actually really like the American hopped "grapefruit" beers on Cask he objects to, but I see his point. The bigger problem is pubs having 5  lagers on tap which nobody would be able to differentiate between in a blind taste test. All about having a broad selection on keg and cask!

A run around Stockholm. 10 pubs over three days. Was a big fan of Mariestad Lager.

If you are into your craft, did the trio of Mikkeller, Stigeberts and Ominpollo on Saturday night. I tell you rhey increase keep ‘getting English pubs right abroad. One of them had Kirstall Bitter and Purity Ale

Jealous for Omnipollo, wanted to go there for years.

Tbh I was disappointed with their Hatt bar. Too small. More space taken up by the pizza oven than much needed seating.

This weekend everything for the summer is opening up for their two other sites. One which is in a park open up.

Stigbergets is underrated compared to the other two. Superb IPA and burgers to die for

The Harp is indeed quite keen on hoppy IPAs. Maybe a good stout or porter now and then. That's ok in the summer but when it's darkest winter in London doesn't really make much sense to have 3 or 4 zesty pale ales with notes of guava and tangerine.

You probably already know it but he's right that the Royal Oak is a beautiful pub and one of the best places to get more trad bitters, milds etc in London. Though it's all Harvey's. Fantastic pub all in all.
