They definitely have an advantage as they are used to the buildings, the size of the pitch and travel arrangements to get there. Certainly should be made to play away from wembley. Depending who they draw one of the manchester stadiums or villa park or hillsborough should do. Not that the fa will do it.

This may have been relevant had the FA not already said that both semis will be at Wembley. Even if spuds qualify but they won't have the home dressing room.

Wemberley has been Spurs home ground all season should they be made to play there semi game at another ground like it was a few years back.

Do they have any advantage over the other side, who ever they draw.

I dont like to pick on grammar too much online.. but its this kind of thing that boils my bollocks.... two completely different meanings.

They should be made to play there/their

As if that would make much of a difference. In the interest of fairness too the opposition the game should be moved to a neutral venue.

Did I say it Shouldn't?

All I've said is the FA have already said a spuds semi will not be moved.

Wait till Chelsea start the redevelopment of SB they may have 3 seasons at Wembley.

Should have been foreseen as a potential issue by the clueless FA.

But it's the clueless FA so what do we expect?

Sweet FA of course.

Spurs go on to win the thing, it's an unfair advantage in my view. Should have moved the final to the Millennium stadium.

No.

Of course they have an advantage. They are used to the size of the pitch and the bounce of the pitch, they are used to the movement of wind, the position of the sun and the noises that are there. They won't be filled with the same awe of playing there either. It's all about experience.

No way move it to Cardiff.

The FA should have told spuds to fvck off and play at Brentford.

That's what should have happened. A club side shouldn't play at Wembley.

The FA are anxious to claw back as much money as possible from the National Stadium.

I saw an interview with Vertonghen recently in which he was asked about last year's' hoodoo at Wembley. He said that this season they were very comfortable there, bedded in, knew the staff, familiar with the resources and layout, the pitch, playing surface, infrastructure and it felt like home. The semis and the final should be hosted in Cardiff to assure neutrality, but that would mean lost revenue for the FA.

No.

Doesnt this table show they do have an advantage?

They get more points at home than away.

They shouldn't be there anyway. The semis shouldn't be there but the final can only be there, and it absolutely shouldn't move just because Spurs get to play there for a year.

It's apparently an obscure fact that most sides get many more points at home than away? :nigel:  The point of the table is that Spurs have been the second best away club but fourth best at home.  Their home versus away performance differential is below average.

Spuds fans were bitching since before the season started about the loss of their home field advantage and their crappy past record on the big pitch at Wembley.  And the record shows some truth to that.

If someone like Eriksen has stated the players are now "at home" on that pitch, I have to accept that is an unearned advantage.  OTOH there shouldn't be any difference in the quality of the player facilities.  At the end of the day the whole issue strikes me as a moan fit for Spurs fans -- or Mourinho -- and should we make it there, we should ignore any such distractions and just get on with it.

I agree we should get on with it, but Spurs are better at home than at any other ground so I don’t think your table does anything to dispel the idea that Spurs gain an advantage from being at Wembley for a one-off game.

I don’t disagree with your point, I just don’t think the evidence you’ve provided supports it.
