Unless you've been living under a rock recently, its been plastered all over the news that Ronaldo's goal against Juventus was so good that it had Juve fans on their feet applauding.

Has there ever been a goal scored against Leicester that you just had to show your appreciation for?

The only one i can recall applauding was Di Maria's goal in the 5-3 win against Man U.

I've never applauded, but I've also never lost my s**t like quite a few seem to (see West Brom fans v Vardy).

Generally will comment to say that it is a good finish etc though. Remember being depressed and in admiration when Cresswell smashed one in for West Ham in the infamous Ulloa penalty 2-2 game a few years ago. Challobah for Watford late on in the 'Deeney' season was a similar reaction too.

Applaud a goal would never do it. Clap off an injured player yes as no one wants to see that. Unless it was Cvnty Wise then it would be off to the pub to celebrate.

Oh and perhaps dilly dally the spud.

There’s probably been a few times where I’ve thought in my head “fvck me what a goal you bastards” but I could never bring myself to applaud an opposition goal.

I can remember thinking "wow that was a great strike" when someone scores a great goal against us. I may even confirm as much to the bloke next to me "great goal that". I can't remember standing and applauding though.

I do remember Gazza getting applauded on to the field at Filbert Street when he came on a sub for Everton though...

I've clapped a few in recent years.

Di Maria's, Azpilicueta's and Jo Kuffour's stand out.

Edit, ****ing hell that Kuffour goal was 10 years ago.

I always used to think the same, but that Di Maria was so incredible that i found myself applauding without thinking!

Plus it was also a pity clap, since i knew at the time that it would only be a consolation goal, it was obvious we were going to put 5 goals past them...

Have I, no.

Would I, yes.

I think a lot of it has to do with who the player is to be honest. If that was Ashley Barnes, you'd be spitting feathers. If that was Messi or Ronaldo doing it against you, you're not only clapping the goal, but an incredible player, a living legend and showing your respects to one of the greatest players to grace the game.

yeah, this. you can't imagine the Baggies fans standing to applaud a "worldy" by Vardy at the Hawthorns, no matter how good the goal was...

Wouldn't ever even consider applauding unless it was a footballer I genuinely like, which narrows it down to about 5 people outside of our squad. Thats because im petty and bitter when it comes to people doing things to the detriment of Leicester though.

Don't think I clapped Di Maria although I do remember looking at my dad and he was thinking the same thing "fair play." Was top drawer.

I clapped Kevin De Bruyne the other day when he took us apart and got subbed off, he was ludicrous.

Best one I ever saw (on telly obviously) though was the Bernabeau standing to applaud Ronaldinho when he murdered them in the Classico. Given the politics between the two it was probably the most poignant respect of an opposition player I can think of. I mean it wasn't just some polite applause, it was a standing ovation.

Yeah Iniesta is regularly applauded when subbed off at the Bernabeau but that's because he scored the world cup winning goal.

There wasn't a reason for the Madrid fans to clap Ronaldinho other than he was magnificent. I love seeing genuine respect like that.

It's why I clapped De Bruyne off the pitch too.

Reminds me of us playing Barca in the friendly at the Walkers and he was getting loads of shit after I presume, his free kick against England. Booing him all game, loads of grief at corners.

He was unreal, the booing stopped and everyone just starting clapping him at corners and when he can off got a standing ovation. A "fair do, you're fecking ace" reaction.

Not a goal, but say it was a significant player's final game or something like that, say Kompany makes his last ever appearance away to us, I'd probably clap him off.

Same here.

Would agree that given the occasion, I would clap off say Kompany in his last appearance or similar. To be completely honest the only time I have felt something for the opposition was probably when we relegated Doncaster with an iffy penalty. We lifted the trophy whilst they were down thanks to the penalty and Brum scoring in super injury time.

Most technically gifted player of my lifetime, probably all time.

Love that I got to see him even in a friendly.

I would never condemn anyone for doing it. But personally if I was a player would I want 30k of my own fans clapping? No. My personal view.

Not in a competitive game. In a friendly I will - I can remember going to the Barca and Madrid friendlies and certain players getting booed and I'm like wtf, we're watching superb players here.

I don't mind clapping a team off or a manager when he's leaving the pitch. I'd clap a player off in his last ever game - Michael Owen, for example, received a standing ovation and St Mary's I think.

You see I don’t respect someone because they’re a great footballer. Ronaldo is an arse and i’ve got no time for him.

I could imagine clapping an ex-Leicester player if I really liked him when he was here, but only if the goal didn’t affect us that much.
