I think Gray plays best on the right when given a chance. I wonder if he could well be Mahrez's replacement? I think Gray is an immense talent but his progress over the last 2.5 years is disappointing, it's a make or break season for him at Leicester at least.

If Gray ends up replacing Riyad, unless we have signed a class number 10 and left midfielder then we are in deep, deep trouble. Edited 29 May 2018 by OhYesNdidi

STUHILL Posted 29 May 2018 Posted 29 May 2018 His last season with us unless he takes his chances! We need to be patient and give him more game time though and hopefully he flourishes. He has lots of talent but he needs to make a big step up in end product and consistency now. I'd start him ahead of Albrighton next season and depending who we sign this summer, I hope to see him start more games. If he still fails to make an impact, then probably best for everyone if he moves on next summer. I still think he may come good for us though!

Diabate should be ahead of those two in the pecking order IMO

Shown Gray up in terms of making an instant impact. I just hope Gray has a decent pre-season and gets to start a handful of the early games and finally start to show some consistency. Would say it's about 50/50 if he will though.
AlloverthefloorYesNdidi Posted 29 May 2018 Posted 29 May 2018 Think Gray's 'failings' have been a bit exaggerated this season 4
lcfc sheff Posted 29 May 2018 Posted 29 May 2018 positive he'll come good, shown all the attributes just needs to get his head down and given a longer run in the first 11

cropstonfox Posted 29 May 2018 Posted 29 May 2018 Sorry hes a good championship level player. No more.Comes inside on his right foot. His crossings improved against the lower teams given space.I belive he tries hard but has reached his level .Top championship low end prem.So if we are ambitious and the right offer comes in then lets sell.
Katy Posted 29 May 2018 Posted 29 May 2018 If he drops the ‘tude he’ll be fine, it’s obvious he has the ability.
Steve Earle Posted 29 May 2018 Posted 29 May 2018 One last season to show that he can do what we know he can do, when it counts, and consistently...
UPinCarolina Posted 29 May 2018 Posted 29 May 2018 (edited) Gray was coming on some by the end of the season. This upcoming year needs to be one where he makes the leap - as many others have stated. He’s running a little short on time, at least at LCFC. Edited 29 May 2018 by UPinCarolina
sacreblueits442 Posted 29 May 2018 Posted 29 May 2018 ...not too sure of Gray's position in the team! With Roberts in the team and Puel playing people in the right positions, the left side would be taken up by Roberts. Diabate's favored position is on the right and with 4-2-3-1 that leaves Nacho in the middle of the forward three. Gray would have to act as cover for Diabate or Roberts and will still be struggling for games.....back to square one!!! I think he has been waiting for Mahrez to go and saw himself as the replacement for the right side. He really now has to ask himself what it is he wants for himself and how best to make that happen. Unless he has an amazing pre-season to get ahead of Diabate, we will perhaps looking at a January transfer next season.

I'd say Diabate and Gray will both be starting ahead of Albrighton and Roberts (if joins) but Gray will likely be pushed out before Diabate if we sign someone better. Roberts may prove to be better than Gray but so far is unproven and Gray is ahead of him in the England U21 set up
AlloverthefloorYesNdidi Posted 29 May 2018 Posted 29 May 2018 Even good established players need to be playing regularly to hit form Gray is young and hasnt been playing week in week out large parts of games People expect him to do the hardest part of football, producing in attack, every time he plays.
Deebhoy Posted 29 May 2018 Posted 29 May 2018 I think the bold Damari isn't as good as he thinks he is. If we got a ridiculous daft offer I'd sell.
