Funny. It's the lack of capitalization on Gray that irritates me.

He didn't spell Demarai correctly. It gets on my fvcking nerves.

Not even going to give this thread the time of day.

Just a ridiculous thread where people can slag one of our young players.

I find it very difficult to slag off any young players, I understand they can only be a prospect for so long, but you can't expect the likes of Gray, Choudhury or Chilwell to become world beaters overnight. It takes time and the only time they can become world beaters is by players. We've all seen Gray do some bloody brilliant stuff and let's not forget, he won't even be in his prime for another 6 or 7 years. Are you seriously telling me that Gray won't significantly improve, to what is at times a cracking player, in the next 6 or so years? Look at Mahrez, the first half of his first ever Premier League season he did nothing, nor did Vardy to some extent especially in his first season at the club. We of all people should know that you should never ever write players off because they can become superstars just like that. Cut the lad some slack and get behind him.

Is this actually a serious thread?

Why on earth would we want to sell him? Hes got bags of talent, granted he sometimes looks frustrated/disinterested, but that's a young talented lad frustrated at himsef for not being in the first 11 every week. Its passion to be the best, would you prefer someone happy to be on the bench? Happy out with the lads on a Friday being a squad player? Stick by him, hes young, loads to learn but very talented.
DO NOT F*ING SELL!

I would say keep. The club already invested 2 and a half years in him. he's (maybe) gonna make a breakthrough soon so I would hate it if another PL club just picks him up, invest a year and get a great young player on their hands.

Maybe the shadow of the undroppable Mahrez subconsciously kept him from expressing himself the best way he could on the pitch. He always came off (at least he did for me) as a guy who experiences a million scenarios in his head just before making a decision and it resulted in him squandering the opportunity many times. He knows that he can't push Riyad off the starting spot and Marc is used as a balancing boulder for the side defensively. It's hard to displace a pillar that holds the house.

I will give him another year (barring injuries). It's too late to quit now. But folks, keep your expectations moderate! He won't turn into a world beater overnight. It's growing pains for Gray and everyone involved. He is not playing badly on purpose! Let's wait it out. You would think the fans who watched 2 of the greats Rags to riches stories in Vardy and Mahrez would have a bit more patience.

I’d keep him for another couple of years, he’s still very young and with the right coaching could be incredible for us. The attitude is a concern though, you don’t have to know him personally to see how he comes across sometimes. He also needs to stop posting the semi-porno shots of him and his girlfriend on instagram ?

I think Puel can probably fix him. Keep.

It’s the managerments job to sort him out. Puel, Appleton, stowell ...... someone!!!

we have one of the best English prospects playing for us - I know,  let’s sell him ...............  he has been linked with spurs and Bournemouth..... that’s two managers who know a decent young English player.

the kid should be our future, not being disposed of.

Im confused at some of the comments. Because I thought would open a debate on wether he's up to the job at city or if an offer comes in take it!

Let's not forget he's likely to want to move if he doesn't get any more game time. And before you say he's only 21 . We've got 19 year olds in the England world cup squad

we should only sell him if we get a stupidly high bid and if we could get a young like for like replacement in

hes only 21 so hes still got room to improve and progress here

I think that would tip him over the edge.

Exactly. That's why I said I'd sell him. He's not good enough to make an impact at premier league level yet.

Despite having done so several times?

If Demarai hadn't have been in our squad this season, we'd have not finish any lower or higher. He needs to play every week, can't see him being able to do that in the premier League.

His contribution hasn't been massive but there has been one or two games where he's been a decisive factor

Thats a fair point about him needing to play every week, the debate then is about whether he will play enough here to benefit him

I think he will.  Its not like under Ranieri/Shakey when the guy wouldnt get a look in no matter what.  Puel plays him regularly and will continue to do so, whether he becomes a regular starter or not is another matter.  Personally I think he is an important part of the squad with potential to become more important this season.

We'll see.  I dont think the club benefits from sending out a player on loan, or selling one, who can contribute to our season
