The only benefit I can give Ward is that we also signed Schmeichel when he was 25. And even in the 2-3 years that followed he had some absolute shockers. Who can forgdt Kasper throwing the ball in his own net away at Doncaster, and who can forget when we were 2-1 up away at Blackpool and he gave away the most idiotic penalty in the 94th minute. Ward will not be afforded that kind of patience. If he makes half the howlers Kasper made back then his days will be numbered prematurely.

You forgot Man City away last season.

Has everyone forgotten that Musa came out the season he joined to publically say he did NOT want to be played as a striker? Instead he sees himself as a wide player or wide forward.

I want him to succeed with us, but if he's not performing in training and not interested in being a striker, then I don't think you can say he hasn't been given a shot.

TBF, he's not blaming Benalouane.

He looked an awful buy by every metric before he'd even signed for us, just like £12.6m on Danny Ward does. I'd love to hear someone from the club explain the thinking behind both signings to me.

I wasn’t disagreeing with what he said, but the post was saying he’s ‘stealing a living’ should be aimed at the recruitment and DoF rather than the player.

I think Musa is to be used wide, which is why we haven't bought a Mahrez replacement.

Can admin please add a 'screaming' reaction.

Early days but did make two decent saves yesterday to be fair.

Ward is a decent keeper. I’d guess you’d say a solid, mid table keeper.

Some players unite squads, some cause disharmony. Sometimes losing “egos” makes the squad better.

I think you're right on both counts. Just look at the rise of Pickford for example yet his transfer was seen by some as silly money at the time. Let's not forget, Ward was seen as being something quite special as a prospect when they bought him but they've moved to another level now and need that instant product hence their big signing. You can bet they'd have liked to have kept him as no 2 but neither of their other two would fetch many beans in the transfer market. Financially they are not a Man City and needed to recoup some money with more sales to come.

I also feel that there's more than meets the eye with the Schmeichel situation and any potential sway he may have with certain squad members, long has there been rumours. It's a new era.

He got his contract so he doesn't give a **** anymore. At least Ulloa has contributed to the club and has paid back his £8m transfer fee. Benalouane cost almost similar and the wages that guy has been stealing from the club over the last 3 years is shocking.

Bit harsh. The guy played home and away against Atletico in what was arguably the club's biggest ever games, and he's always been pushing to improve and try and get himself into the team. It's not his fault he's been mismanaged and kept here when he probably should have been moved on. To say he's been "stealing from the club" is unnecessary.

They paid £100,000 from Wrexham for him.

He has played three first team games in six years at Liverpool.

Klopp had him behind Karius and Mingolet.

Giggs and Coleman have him behind Hennessey in the Welsh team.

Huddersfield fans had him as bang average Championship level in the 43 games they seen him.

He was statistically rated one of the worst keepers in the Championship in his time at Huddersfield (see below).

He's 25 now and there is absolutely nothing to suggest he is "something quite special as a prospect". My fear on this is that we bought him on anecdotal evidence as he stuck in someone's mind at Leicester of being an outstanding keeper after his heroics in the play offs.

Is it definitely a transfer bid or could it be a loan? If so could be someone like Thomas.

Wilder said 'Bid gone in' so i'd assume money?

Sheff Utd have bid for one of our strikers apparently. So Ulloa basically.

Funny enough I heard they had bid £8m for 28yo  Martyn Waghorn and thought as soon as I heard that I'd save some money and be all over Ulloa who is far superior.

Yep looks like they're losing out on that one to Derby so they're looking at new options. Got some cash to spend after selling Brookes as well.

11 days to go for transfers in England. Should we expect a late flurry of outgoings so that we can buy or will we chance it and spend big then hope that some European clubs come in during the 3 weeks up to the closing of the European window?

Depends when Rudkin gets back from Holiday, not sure that he realises that the window ends sooner this season.
