also nothing can ever beat the pitch appearing as you walk up the steps from the concourse when you go the match. every time. whether you’ve had a season ticket for years, whether you only go occasionally, if we’re playing to win the league or playing in league one, it still just makes you feel like a kid again and everything is amazing.

Got to be honest here but because i live in canada (family moved here when young kids) watching city games has been more on tv/streams  or reading news since i was like 12 or something over the years. When ive had times to come over to England being able to watch a game at the KP is like disney land to a kid. Im in so much awe (regardless of how we are playing) and just happy to see my club, the supporters and be part of it all.  Im jealous of a lot of you ladies and gents who get to experience it weekly.  My son (only 5) is a city supporter and always sings "we're gunna win da league" lol. Im looking forward to taking him to a match next time im in england.

But outside of that spending time with my wife and kids outdoors away from it all. Can be as simple as them having fun at a park or going for a walk along a trail. Just nice to be out and about while they are still small enough to not talk back and hate us lol

Porthtowan's a small village on the north coast of Cornwall, near where I used to live.  When the tide is out it's possible to walk on the beach to the north-east, mostly in splendid isolation.  I've spent many a happy hour there turning off from the world and feeling at one with my surroundings.

If anyone else contemplates doing this, be sure to check the tide times.  It's too easy to get trapped against the cliffs by a rapidly incoming tide.

My happy place is more mental than physical. It doesn't make a lot of difference if say, I was on a beautiful beach, a mountain area, gardens, or just in a small bench or sitting at home. As long as I'm getting some peace of mind and not feeling down, I'm happy.

Less is more I guess:dunno:

This is it with me. I'm busy at work, then when I get home I'm busy with the kids, their various sports clubs ect. So for me its a similar thing, somewhere where I can just be quite, and stop and listen to the world without having to be doing something or keeping an eye out for the kids, somewhere were I can just completely switch off and relax with my own thoughts. That could be in a beer garden somwhere, a country walk, or the back garden, anywhere really.

I used to live in Garmisch Partenkirchen in Bavaria and this place is Riessersee on the outskirts of town but you can reach it on foot.

There's a hotel on the edge of the water with a fantastic restaurant, benches all the way round and the body of water is clean so you can swim of that takes your fancy. Spent many a summer afternoon/evening here with a beer or two just taking in the breathtaking scenery and gathering my thoughts. I would move back there in an instant.

Belgrave is a cracking spot for a pint or two tbf. Bit expensive on a student budget however.

Happy place is probably Trent Bridge in the sunshine with a few beers. Cannot beat it.

mans got a discount card for belgrave. got spares too, can hook you up.

belgrave, headrow, boathouse, some posters describe this as the holy trinity of the lids

Went to the Tegernsee last summer. It's just a bit more to the East in the South of Bavaria. Drove there by crossing the border with Austria, coming up from Schwaz in Tyrolia. Magnificent lake scenery, tranquil and peaceful, so much greenery.

Great place for a week's holiday (or two), but I wouldn't want to live there, I'd get too bored with time.

This thread is great and I think it's impossible to read it without getting a desire to explore new places and find some new quiet spots. I'm gonna cycle out somewhere in rural Cambridgeshire tomorrow with a book and see if I can find somewhere quiet and peaceful.

Sorry to shatter your e-crush Buce. :D

lol

Behave.

I can always tell Moose by his syntax, whoever he pretends to be - if he's Suzie, he's a whole lot cleverer than I give him credit for.

My happy place, is anywhere with a blue sky ,warm sunshine, lush green grass, a babbling stream and the sound of birdsong. Mustn't forget the real ale though, and a pretty female face, smiling adoringly at me. Heaven on earth. :D :yesyes:

Nice one DT. In my experience, it isn’t where you are, it’s who you are with that makes all the difference.

Suzie has Moosebreath cat fishing written all over.

If Moose has now become online genderqueer his personality is more mental than ever I thought.

If Moose had a catfish account (and I wouldn't put it past him) it would be nothing to do with gender or sexuality and the same reason he has every other account - attention and reactions.
