 voted, then was about to ask why more people had voted for the winners to be England than England to win it. Good work.

So I went with Portugal this time, hoping for the same result.

Most of the countries are already out (or look hopeless).  England was never featured.  Leaving only

England losing semi finalists but it will be two nail biting games to get there.

England fans very confident but they've beaten 2 pub teams and lost to Belgium. Colombia on their day are far more creative, just a question of whether they turn up and whether they take their chances if they do.

 

Having said that, there is still no obvious winner. Gone for Brazil because they always have the referees on their side, I think they're average but they have match winners. If Uruguay beat Portugal they must surely fancy their chances as well, shockingly boring but good in both boxes and that's what counts.

Said Argentina would do it - after all, they've now been given a lifeline and maybe the Messi motor finally starts running to cap off his national team career with a World Cup win.

 

Uruguay dark horses as always. Not sure Portugal can sustain relying on Ronaldo mostly.

 

As much as I'd love the Three Lions to win it, England will go as far as reaching the semis, but then have a chance of securing 3rd spot in the end.

 

Bottom half of that tableau doesn't look that impressive.

 

Btw, @Nalis: You forgot 3rd place as an option.

Can't see us beating Colombia. Beating Tunisia in the last minute and demolishing a pub team means nothing.

 

Id love us to, but I'm not going to set myself up with high expectations. Rather expect the worse from here and then eat my own words with a side of many pints of beer.

3rd/4th place match is a glorified friendly in my view hence why I didn't include it

I know it's coming home however England are 15/2 to win the competition and the best side so far Croatia are 12/1.
