Wondering if this chap is viewed more in a “Kante-esque” role with a more traditional CB still also on the cards. Strengths seem very similar to Kante in terms of ability to break up opposition play. Does he have a similar motor? Perhaps able to play both along a flexible back line and in front of same if necessary. Adaptability seems to be what Puel is after.

I was just thinking this, if we signed him it would be interesting to see him attempt it at CDM as he does seem to have a great reading of the game

Looks like a sweeper centre-half to me.
