Once the players have settled what do you see our lineup being?

A few new players this summer who'll need a few weeks to acclimatise but once they have what do you see as being the lineup.

 

I actually think we could be going 3 at the back. Forget wingers use wing backs.

 

Here's my 11:

 

Kasper

 

Ricardo

Benkovic

Maguire

Soyunco

Albrigthon (guess it'll be chillers though)

 

Ndidi

Choudhury

If Evans isn't fit then Morgan/Benkovic.

Difficult to fit Silva in, let alone Iborra, and I really want the former to play cos after a proper pre-season I think he'll be considerably better than how he played last season.

 

Really wanna fit Iheanacho in after the great pre-season as well but Vardy is #1 striker regardless.

I would imagine that IF he goes for this formation (no evidence that he will, but I'd not be against it) he'd only pick one defensive mid, so that would be Silva in instead of Hamza.

would be happy to see Albrighton in as a wing back and Iborra in if Silva can’t cut it, but if things gelled this would be my XI.

With the amount of cbs we now have and a lack of quality wingers, I'd say either 352 or 3411 depending on who we are playing. At home against teams outside top 6 id go with 

 

                    Kasper

       Soyuncu evans maguire

Ricardo                                    chillwell

                 Ndidi silva 

                   Maddison

           

            Vardy    iheanacho

 

Away and against top 6 id go with the same team but dropping out Iheancho for iborra and have iborra playing a deep lying playmaker role in front of the back 4 and move maddison closer to vardy in a 3 4 1 1 kind of formation still using wing backs.

I think eventually it will be a Hamza and Wilf pairing. We can’t just rely on Ndidi to win the ball back especially against the counter. Silva is lightweight and I’ve never seen Iborra make a tackle or press the opposition. 

 

Also with Maguire and Soyuncu dribbling out of defence there will be gaps for the opposition to exploit, which only Wilf/Hamza will be able to stop.

i thought this, there is no way were playing this 352 system that everyone was assuming with no backup strikers.

First two yeah, but definitely not that last one. i remember the last diamond midfield we had against Southampton away under Ranieri :cry:

Maybe..... but you also can't play a diamond with Simpson and Fuchs. You also need a real no.10. Wingbacks are the essential part to that system.

Having bought that many centre halves I've finally come around to thinking we'll eventually go three at the back.

I do think the front three will rotate a bit though and you'll see the likes of Gray, Ghezzal and Diabate involved too. Maybe even a 3-4-2-1.


Albrighton I expect to be back-up wing back.
