Nacho man assist appreciation thread

Just a quick thread as I haven’t seen one but off the bench against Liverpool and Bournemouth he has two assists . Long live the nacho man keep it up brother

I want to see him starting alongside Vardy, in a new formation with Maddison behind them.

 

Vardy is just too isolated and easily dealt with when on his own in this new system. 

 

Nacho was showing real signs of quality last season when he was partnered with Vardy. Get him on and lets get a partnership going

The only way I see us accomadate him is a 352 do you agree ? I think that formation along with 99% of fans would agree do you? I cants see whys Puel can’t see it.

I have mentioned 352 or more specifically 3-4-1-2 about 20x in my posts tonight and make no apologies for it 

 

It suits and gets the best out of Chilwell, Pereira, Maguire and partners Vardy and Iheanacho together. What's not to like? 

 

Puel has 0 history of it though, but surely he can see what so many others do and certainly enough to try it

Best cross of the season too.

 

I'd like to see two up front. I never have been a fan of one forward - it's alright if they make a three and they're actually good at it (ie Salah/Mane/Firminho).

I think some forgot iheanacho’s strong end to last season, looked to have finally nailed that no.10 role, seems a shame to me if we don’t see vardy, iheanacho and Maddison start in a few games together.

Everything just screams for 352. Only problem is we only have 2 proper strikers. Can Ghezzal play up top?

I would be sidelining Gray for a couple of games ..Nacho with Vardy ,Ghezzal plays.. 

Let Gray,Ghezzal,Albrighton compete for places....

 

The hardest of hard descisions...is Ndidi   doing enough...The last man I usually criticise,but so far he's well off where we need him to be..

Nacho won't have a chance to develop without this and Vardy cannot work alone particularly against the bigger defenders

 

We are playing a far too open game and I don't think any 2 at centre back would have coped with so little support from the wing backs and other team members yesterday - to be honest Morgan and Maguire could both have been sent off

I don't think Claude wanted to go quite so adventurous against the mighty footballing powerhouse that is Bournemouth, tbh.

Agree this is our strongest formation, with two full backs, who are wing backs, and can’t defend in a back 4, it’s the way to play, I share your frustration, 3-5-2 please Claude

Got a fair few last season. Please can we just fcukin go 3-4-1-2 with Maddison behind him and Vardy? It's so blantantly obvious as the formation to fit the players in we want. Stupidity for our manager yet again.

The problem with NDiddi is he's trying to do too much. We need another in there with him and Mendy.

Gray is only average and not deliving enough. Ghezzal offer so much more and when you consider he's only finding his feet.

Madison and Vardy are both too isolated. Madison needs someone from midfield to step forward and assist him. Likewise Vardy is left to challenge for scraps.At least with Kelechi beside him it would split the defense. Making it easier to find one of them.

 

The Good news is the problems are fixable but will take a little time.

It concerns me that Puel is either unaware of this OR he is too stubborn to change his failing system. 

 

i'm not saying that 3-5-2 is suddenly going to change us into world beaters, but it certainly makes the most sense right now and at the very least, should be tried.

Problem with Nacho is we have given him chances to start and he never really does anything, Southampton game a prime example. 

 

He only seems to look good enough in dead rubber matches (Spurs/Arsenal last season) pre season friendlies or cup games against lower league opposition.

This will be his undoing if he can't get it right. I like what the guy is trying to do and it is only one big defeat so far this season. 

 

It seems he has one way of playing and that's it. I hope I'm wrong though. 

 

Any managers out there that play with 3 at the back?

The only thing that mitigates against this is that it would be difficult to shoehorn Gray into a starting spot. Got to say that, at least at the moment, that isn’t much of a loss.

Yes, yes, yes. Could not agree more. I have a lot of respect for the way Puel has gone about reinvigorating the squad, but I think he needs to be more flexible tactically. 3-5-2 is the obvious choice?

My argument there is, he's still barely had a run of games and although he's not been amazing he's still chipping in with assists and a few goals here and there. The likes of Chilwell and Gray have been given game after game to try and begood enough for this level, Iheanacho finally gets what appears to be a 3 game stretch to make his mark and he's subbed after an hour vs Southampton after an assist that got us level in the game, after 55 mins vs Fleetwood and then didn't even start vs Liverpool where we didn't play a striker. Low and behold he comes on after an hour, sets one up and we finally started looking threatening.

 

I don't think Puel rates him, which is scandalous given he's let go every other fcukin attacker we had.
