I would not agree it was a tidy debut, I was very worried he would get sent off. Apparently his language skills are poor, I think he was omitted for a safer option in Evans.

Why was he safer than Evans last game then?

i know these are unusual circumstances but it’s another bizarre in/out from Puel

V West Ham, He looked strong and committed but positioning was not great.

maguire was really having to talk him through the game and Maguire seemed unsure of him

6-12 months of coaching and we have a player on our hands

Soyuncu did well on his debut but has a lot to learn which I'm sure he will. Morgan and Maguire and then Evans are proven premier league footballers with loads of experience- it was absolutely the right decision to select them over Caggers.

I thought Evans had his best game for us yesterday and looked very solid.

That is my worry.

I thought he had a good debut, very strong in defence and decent going forward.I personally prefer him to Evans, who i didnt think had a horrible game yesterday considering the circumstances, but he is so slooooow.

I would prefer whoever partners Harry to have pace and neither Evans or Wes fit that into that bracket.

Hopefully Benko will provide the pace sooner rather than later.  He is not doing much defending up there.

Are people still knocking Evans?

Clearly don’t have have the capacity to see past his first twenty minutes. He’s improved game by game and is looking the part now.

I think we just have to go with the team that was selected on this occasion because we have no idea how any of the players were feeling about the occasion or how training had gone. Going with as much experience as possible in the squad seemed like a good idea.

Not here, a few of us have said how much we rated him yesterday.

Not having that. He was good yesterday, they all were but it was his channel that got opened up for all three goals at Arsenal and he was the weak link vs Huddersfield as well. He's looked like a Matt Upson esque stop gap rather than a good signing.

I see he made the trip to Thailand which help him bonding with his team-mates.  I noticed on the GoalThailand Video he was wearing a black suit with white trainers:D bless him.

In 25 years time he'll be managing us, asking journalists if they can put their heads in the sand and strangling opposing players.

We are fine defensively with Maguire, Morgan and Evan's when we play the likes of Hudderdfield, Newcastle and Cardiff as theres very little pace and movement to stretch us. But as soon as we come up against teams with a strong attack then we're in trouble. Soyuncu is needed.

it seems we do the same every year we buy players then we leave them to rot either on the bench or not even in the squad. most side when the buy players they play them, not us, will come a time when players wont come to the club, if this continues.

Soyuncu and Benkovic were probably purchased as future replacements for Wes and for Harry (if and when he is sold).    Personally, I would like see Benko recalled in January (as winning 5-0 ever week in the SPL is not achieving very much) and we need start to inter-grate him into our Club in readiness for becoming a regular.   After WHAM, I was hoping that Soyuncu would be given a chance.  I think the Team selected against Cardiff was not for footballing reasons, it was to give the players that were part of Vichai's miracle the opportunity to show their love to the great man.

I think thats aren't always happen.

Before and during title win season, mahrez, kante, huth etc aren't gone to the bench.

After the title win season, mendy are unlucky with injury, slimani is Ranieri 1st choice vardy partner, while the rest are disappointing. Only when we change manager slimani comeback to the bench.

Last season Maguire and Iborra quickly become first teamer. Silva case was unlucky as we fail to sign him because administration, while Iheanacho are far away from rotting in the bench.

And then, Iborra and Silva are moved to the bench after we change coach.

This season, madison, pereira, earn many minutes. Ghezzal, Nacho, play for some games, while. Benkovic are loaned out, soyuncu and Evans aren't play much but more about circumstances around them instead of rotting like musa, slimani post ranieri, silva post Shakespeare.

Overall, we don't buy players just for rotting on the bench. Some are moved to the bench after we change coach, but most still have acceptable playing times given the circumstances.
