What Do We Need In The Next Two Windows To Make 4231 Effective?

He's the poorest of the players we have in that position, to bring in a new forward we need to make space in the squad, he would be the one to go, but obviously it could be Albrighton or Gray, but I wouldn't sell either of them.

He's the only decent back up we have in the 10 position. Personally I'd rather keep him next year and loan Barnes to West Brom again if they get promoted so he can get used to PL football playing every week.

I think a right back is priority. Pereira looks better and a lot more effective further up the field and it will take Amartay a while to get back to full match fitness.

Here I am moaning about Puel again but I think better players would only somewhat mask underlying problems with chance creation. We're too cautious to begin and we lack structure with the ball.

Only team unbeaten in 6 outside the top 4. And not just all draws.. 3 wins and 3 draws.

We desperately needed to start converting losses into draws as well and that has been addressed last 6 games.

The Southampton game sticks out as boring/unstructured but then again we changed a load of players.

It's getting there mate! Slowly but surely..... would you rather be Southampton?

Albrighton works like a horse but doesn't have goals in his locker, Gray is like a meal you can look at but not eat, and Ghezzal is a back-up for Maddison in the No. 10 role. Gray has scored what, 1 goal in 14 games? 2? Not enough.

Coulda carted him off to Bournemouth for £25m last time out was it??. He just doesn't finish his chances.

Maybe we could sell him off to a promoted club for that. Or Fulham if they lose Sessegnon...

I believe the desire for a good winger is rooted in the fact that we need wingers who can score goals, like Mahrez. The fullbacks have been excellent but aren't wingers anyway so why would you expect goals from them, Albrighton works like a horse but doesn't have goals in his locker, Gray is like a meal you can look at but not eat, and Ghezzal is a back-up for Maddison in the No. 10 role. Gray has scored what, 1 goal in 14 games? 2? Not enough. Albrighton brings other things to the game, but that doesn't take away from the fact that he hardly ever scores. Unless Gray improves this season beyond just looking better, it's time to sell him for a profit.

In the wise words of Claudio, Albrighton is a "fantastic horse". He is our D.Silva. I mean look at the ball into Madderz on Saturday. That was De Bruyneesque. He won't be replaceable.

i think we need. decent back up to vardy who is similar to him..... that way if he is off form or injured/ suspended there isn’t so much pressure on the team to adapt to someone different leading the line

I think our biggest problem is transitioning the ball on the ground. We generally rely on either the full backs running forwards, Vardy flick ons or run the channels or Maguire dribbling forwards or forward passing.

We will likely lose Maguire this summer as well. I don't know how good the passing of Benkovic or Soyuncu is to replace it. I think we need somebody alongside either Ndidi or Mendy who's ability to control a game and pass well going forwards to bring our attackers into play. Iborra can do it but he isn't playing and will probably leave.

Anyone know if Beaglehole is in step with the grand design? Seems to me that the U23's need training in formations that parallel the main squad. i'm not suggesting they aren't i just would be interested to know.

Maybe the U23's are mastering how Claude wants us to play and the first team are struggling to understand how it works.....;)

More than anything we need a good striker but difficult getting someone to come and sit in the bench whilst behind Vardy in the pecking order.

If he’s out or misfiring we are going to struggle for goals.

I'm cautiously optimistic. Richardo and Albrighton are playing well. Our right wing may be as potent as our left. Then the formation could work well. Richardo or Chilwell could bomb forwards, while Mendy covers, either full back trying to reach Gray, Maddison, Albrighton or Vardy. Still early doors though. We've beaten a decent but toothless Watford. But with an improving Richardo it does seem slightly more possible.

Loftus Cheek in cm would be the first player I would like to sign.

Lozano from PSV or Lolley at Forest has been doing well, and could go well with a core of young english players we have. Maybe he is more realistic and fits with the squad.

Schmeichel,

Ricardo, Benkovic, Soyunco, Chilwell.

RLC, Ndidi,

Gray, Maddison, Lolley.

Vardy

Not the most experienced side but would be great for the future of our club. Vardy has another season as our main striker, but a target man as back up could be a good sub option.

So is Maguire a substitute, or are you suggesting he is sold? Apart from that it would not be not a balanced team with the number of attacking midfielders. If we play Ricardo Pereira as a full back, we need someone who can drop back to cover as Albrighton does so well. Mendy has to be any starting line up as he has been one of the most consistent players this season.

Periera was excellent defensively on Saturday against Watford.

I think Maguire will be sold. United desperate need for a cb and we will get decent money for him. If Maguire is still here of course he will be our first choice.

Mendy has done well, agreed. And can compete with Ndidi for the starting position.

I'm not so sure that Maguire will be sold and to be quite honest with you Mendy is way ahead of Ndidi at the moment.
