NewquayFox Posted 20 January 2019 Share Posted 20 January 2019 (edited) Oops wrong thread, can mods move it from transfer thread please... Gonna get shot down for this but why can’t Puel give this combination a go, Ndidi/Mendy is a lethargic and and tedious pairing with poor passing and no end product, not sure if this has been a topic on here before but I’ve not seen it and apologises if it has. Just fed up with underperforming players week in week out.... Edited 20 January 2019 by NewquayFox

Popular Post NewquayFox Posted 20 January 2019 Author Popular Post Share Posted 20 January 2019 (edited) I would say Choudhury has come on leaps and bounds since then, I’d play the lad every game from now on in to build his confidence... SouthStandUpperTier Posted 20 January 2019 Share Posted 20 January 2019 (edited) I don't think it will work, but like you say it's maybe worth a try. It's weird how players who don't play (like Silva), and were previously considered shite, suddenly become the answer to all our problems when we have a bad run. I've been guilty of this also (re Slimani). Edited 20 January 2019 by SouthStandUpperTier
Tuna Posted 20 January 2019 Share Posted 20 January 2019 How odd that Silva started at Old Trafford and was frozen out shortly thereafter. 11 days left of the transfer window, rumours abound about him leaving but he's still here. He's never really impressed but you could argue has he really been given much of a chance? I just get the impression Claude doesn't rate him and that's that.
jayfox26 Posted 20 January 2019 Share Posted 20 January 2019 Anyone know if the rumours are true that we have to pay sporting another £3m if he makes another appearance?
Popular Post RumbleFox Posted 20 January 2019 Popular Post Share Posted 20 January 2019 (edited) I always thought Silva looked like he had a certain "something" and it is a shame things didn't work out for him but it looks like his chance has gone and probably best for all parties if he is moved on. I wish him the best. As for CHOUDHURY, (I am not usually one to correct people's spellings (don't like the grammar police) but when it is someone's name it is a little offensive and not hard to look up) I think he has a massive future at the club and could become one of our better players which would be great to see. Could be ....certainly strange to see him not even making the bench. Fwiw, I don’t think he has the physicality require for the prem ...not enough upper body strength. Mendy just about gets by but he is now probably too suspect on this score to be relied upon

Let's move on You might be right, but to be fair to Puel, it could well be that the club's top brass have told him he can't pick Silva because they're not paying that extra £3m or whatever it is. For all we know, Puel might rate Silva but his hands are tied. Not that it makes it right but does anyone else think this is tit for tat after 14-second-gate? The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced Silva's absence is as much about ****ing over Sporting this Jan after they ****ed us over last Jan, as it is anything else.

You would sincerely hope not as its beyond petty and the only loser is the player you have fought hard to bring in!! Vardy Quote I have been trying to fit him in...this is as good a selection where it could work, though I have changed my own preferences... Simpson holds his line, with Periera he wont no need to go too far forward...When fit I would have Amartey coming back... Then Ndidi holds..! The flanks support each other...Choudry holds or supports if Chilwell makes his runs.Simpson always holds, but Periera can drive forward,or help to defend accordingly... Silva The midfield - forward link, with Maddison. Ndidi holds in front of the defence, using Choudry-Periera-Silva has get outs. time for Soyu,to step up, keeping with Wes on Bench. Maguire gets recovery time(hope he still stays) Immediate subs..Barnes /Gray/Albrighton/..cover subs Wes/Fuchs/Nacho/Ghezzal/Mendy Let's be honest selection wise we don't have too many alternatives, unless we do get a newbuy,or 1-2 promotions from within... Because when posters complain,it really is splitting hairs... I would rather we go into the EOS -run-in,with a positive mind set up,motivation with challenges, without too much Gung-ho. Just a twist on thoughts...if we lose 5-0 with Soyu-Evans,we could also lose 5-0,with Morgan-Evans. Using this selection...same for home and away, with a more front-foot mentality at home....plus maybe thoughts on. Choudry/Gray change & Pereira drops back, with Barnes or Albrighton coming in.... I won't use it as a stick to beat Puel with....but I still would like to see Silva, have another chance, and a run of at least 3-5 games!!
