RODGERS Glasgow House

I don’t think football had anything to do with it.

It begs the question why the burglars targeted Rodgers' house in that area specifically, only days after him quitting the Celtic post.

Seriously, the timing is odd and my first instinct is that this must be predominantly football-related.

Wouldn't surprise me if it turns out it was some wound-up and angry Celtic fans on a self-imposed personal payback rampage.

I would guess that they thought it would be empty and therefore an easy target.

All of knew of Rangers was: lately Scotland's also-rans in a nasty rivalry.

They might just become my second club.

Screw these.

Empty in terms of no person being present or empty literally (with all the furniture shipped and whatnot)?

I don't know where these two lowlifes live but changing places for football managers in particular usually takes quite some time, never done within the first few days upon the transfer.

In many cases, they move on an individual basis in the initial stage, stay in an apartment or hotel room, whilst keeping the old house for a while so the family doesn't have to move yet and - depending on the age - the kids can focus on completing school there, for instance.
There's just tons of things to arrange - moving stuff, setting it all up again, settling in, contact with the local authorities, school, housekeeping personnel, insurance, etc.

As Nalis has said ...   empty house, or at least one with no male member in occupation.  They highlighted that his medals etc were taken ..  but that was just part of the haul and was already boxed and easy to take ...   and the medals were bright and shiny ..  which always attracts yer average lowlife scumbag thief !!   :)

I'd say opportunists more likely than die hard bitter and twisted Celtic fans ...   or possibly both !

I think people are being naive if they think this is just a random opportunist burglary. Rodgers would have been away from the house a hell of a lot (European tours, every matchday, especially away days etc). The timing is very suspect and as for nicking trophies/medals etc, they literally have zero value, so a bit pointless unless it was meant as a statement.

Always had a soft spot for Rangers anyway, due to Gazza playing for them

How do you know it wasn't some rangers fans attempting to make celtic fans look bad?

Just playing very strong -- IMO overwhelming -- odds.

But probably not my wisest reaction to get behind Rangers.  I'm sure there are "fans" on both sides capable of this and worse.

How the hell is BR supposed to do his job when his wife and six year old stepdaughter are traumatized and will be worried sick for months?  It is such heavy lifting when you come into a troubled situation as a new and unfamiliar leader.  Now he's got another very difficult task looking after his family's safety and peace of mind (which does not return quickly after a burglary).

I assume this is a reference to Saturdays deleted "debate" that's just gone over everyone's heads... ;)

Wife and I were looking for a house in Bearsden, Glasgow 6 months ago and on one viewing the home owner proudly showed me which house belonged to Brendan Rodgers as he lives on her street.  Where he lived was no secret.

I wouldn’t be surprised if this was seen by the scum who did it as revenge, especially as they targeted his Celtic medals.  Find them and string ‘em up I say

Trophies stolen?

I trust Poch has a good alibi.

Did comment in my office that at least spurs squad and management needn’t worry about medals and trophy security!

Selfie of the robber in Rodgers house put on social media, you don’t need to be Sherlock Holmes to work out this was a revenge crime. No wonder he jumped at the chance to go to a sane club
