Ryan Mcgivern is the worst player I've ever seen play for us. Ben Mee is another who I though twas 5'11, looked on wiki and he's 6'0, I swear at one point a few of these players were listed as 5'11

oxford blue Posted 25 March 2019 Posted 25 March 2019 My guess this is pure speculaion, either by his agent or a newspaper because an interst may have been shown before we signed Benkovic (who will be starting many games next season) and Soyuncu. Even if Maguire goes, centre back is one area where we have cover. Apart from the two mentioned we have Evans and Morgan, and the younger ones coming forward such as Knight and Hughes. The most unlikely of sgnings over thesummer; even more so given fee needed and his age
Suzie the Fox Posted 25 March 2019 Posted 25 March 2019 Leicester City were linked with a move for Getafe defender Djené Dakonam by AS earlier today. The Togo defender has impressed for the Madrid club this season, and his performances have attracted plenty of interest from around Europe. City are said to be one of the clubs interested in a move with star defender Harry Maguire linked with a move to Manchester United this summer. But who is the 27-year-old, and should the Foxes hold serious interest in the Togo international? The fact file Djené Dakonam is a 27-year-old Togolese centre-back, though he has also played as a full-back. He has played for Getafe since 2017 since joining from Belgian club Sint-Truiden for a fee believed to be around £2.25m. Just two years later, he is valued at almost £15 million and has a release clause just shy of £30 million. Djené, as he is best-known, is a Togo international, racking up 39 caps to-date. He has appeared 56 times in the league for Getafe, more than half of which have come this season. He is 5ft 10in in height, but don't let that fool you. What sort of player is Dakonam? Djené is a no-nonsense defender with all the physical ability to be a success in the Premier League. He may only be 5ft 10in, but he's strong and he's aggressive in all phases of play - he even occasionally goes a little too far in that respect. He's racked up no fewer than 14 yellow cards this season, being sent off twice, two games on the bounce in January when he was given his marching orders for two bookable offences in both against Atletico Madrid and Valencia. Though, don't get too hung up on that. Djené is a solid defender, and his size makes him a deceiving colossus, who has proven to be a brick wall for La Liga strikers this season. And he's a big contributing factor to Getafe having the second-best defence in the league this season, behind only Atletico Madrid. The Madrid side have conceded just 24 goals to-date this season. Getafe are enjoying one of the best seasons in their history, and they could be set for their best ever La Liga finishes. They are currently sat fourth, two points clear of Alaves and they could be set to secure a qualifying spot for the Champions League. Djené is very much the perfect fit for Jose Bordelas' Getafe, who are largely based on physicality and grit. Nine players City should want They usually play with two up top and with an old-fashioned look, especially for La Liga. They are an aggressive side, which begins with Djené at the back, and that's given them the edge in a wide-open Liga this season. How has he performed this season? The 27-year-old has racked up 30 appearances this season, and it's no secret that he's been very impressive - that's why we find ourselves talking about a big-money move away from Coliseum Alfonso Pérez. He's been a huge part of one of the best defences in Europe, and it's not as if he's at one of Europe's biggest clubs, he's representing a Getafe side who are punching above their weight having only been promoted two years ago. Djené has been one of the stand-out defenders in the league and this season, his mouth-watering €35 million release clause has begun to make a lot more sense. Put simply, if you were a scout representing a club looking to sign Djené this summer and you had been watching the defender this season, you'd be telling your club to pull the trigger. His only drawback has been his discipline, he can be overzealous in challenges, he struggles to go in half-heartedly, even when on a yellow card, but his lack of a straight red card tells you it's not a temper issue. Djené is a player who gives everything and coupled with his physical attributes, it makes him a player worth snapping up, even for the grand fee being talked about. For a performance which perfectly encapsulates his impressive season so far, just watch Getafe's crucial away draw with Valencia just over a week ago, and how well he performs. You won't be disapponted. https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/who-djen-dakonam-meet-getafe-2683264 Seems super expensive.

Both Frank Sinclair and Robert Ullathorne played in a back 3 under O'Neill, Sinclair more so than Ullathorne who more often played left wing back, when not breaking his leg.

Dan Posted 26 March 2019 Posted 26 March 2019 How did no-one go for Levi Porter in the small team? He was an absolute dwarf.
