broughtonblue Posted 2 April 2019 Posted 2 April 2019 So just got our new puppy, a rescued 6 month old sproodle who is lovely, and got to obviously buy some pet insurance. Do any of you use pets at home at fosse park, is it a good service and price, or just a massive superstore with no personal service, Previously used the park in whetstone and the one at broughton astley but now live in LE2 so looking for somewhere more local. Any advice recommendations appreciated
TiffToff88 Posted 2 April 2019 Posted 2 April 2019 Go on compare the market for the best pet insurance deals. as it does with other insurances, it will give you a breakdown of whats included in your policies. I don't recommend taking your dog to pets for less (or vets4less) for anything vet related. had a couple of very bad (and one near-fatal) experiences there with my dog. find a local independent vet. I'm in syston and use Kings Vets.
Dr The Singh Posted 2 April 2019 Posted 2 April 2019 I have cover with a Chinese restaurant, as soon as the dog dies they take it away and dispose of it for you.
VLC86 Posted 2 April 2019 Posted 2 April 2019 My dogs are insured with that Pet Plan one I think. Definitely get it ASAP. I had it, had to cancel it as I lived abroad for a while and a week later my dog started having seizures. I recon it would have saved me about £5k but instead I reactivated it and pay over £100 a month and pay for the blood tests and medication separately.....
Countryfox Posted 25 May 2019 Posted 25 May 2019 I don’t have dog insurance and this poor little girl has just done her cruciate ... will have to be operated on and pinned ... not going to be cheap.

VLC86 Posted 25 May 2019 Posted 25 May 2019 Ouch, yeah that’s going to cost you a fair bit. Hope she’s ok.

My boy did that 15 months ago, he has recovered pretty well and only has mild arthritis. He can still run, just nowhere near as quick. The bad news is it cost £3200.

She’s 4 ... barely out of nappies ... and she loves to run and run and run ... will definitely slow her down but as long as she has quality life and no pain, I’ll be happy...

Our Malamute Codie has had a pair of new hips and all kinds of exploratory treatment. MRIs, ultrasounds, x-rays, blood tests and I stopped counting when we got up to £25k (seriously!). I would never have a dog without insurance. We have Pet Plan and to be honest they're expensive but good and pretty good at paying out. They don't mess you around so I would def recommend them.

We had a period of about 18 months when he was just in obvious discomfort and we didn't know why. We saw every specialist going. It's heartbreaking when they're not well. I just wish they could talk! Anyway, he's fine now and I hope your girl gets through this OK. She should do but it's gonna hurt financially. I know that you can't insure this condition but maybe you can still insure them for all other conditions? Worth doing. If Code wasn't insured I'd be sleeping on a park bench now.
