Harsh but I can see their thinking Makes you wonder why they've given Denly a white ball contract if that's the case
TheSomersetFox Posted 21 September 2019 Posted 21 September 2019 Just caught the first semi final score. Notts the absolute bottlers
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 21 September 2019 Posted 21 September 2019 Hahahaha Notts 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Talking Notts, director of cricket Mike Newell blames putting the emphasis on youth this season as the reason why they have performed so poorly in the Championship! Mullaney, Fletcher, Broad, Patel, Nash, Ashwin are no spring chickens, Duckett, Slater, Clarke and Moore’s have a few seasons under their belts as well, what youth?
UpTheLeagueFox Posted 21 September 2019 Posted 21 September 2019 11 to win off 12 balls with 8 wickets in hand... and lose Notts were so spursy today.
Corky Posted 21 September 2019 Posted 21 September 2019 Have you ever seen Derby win the T20 Blast? HAVE YOU FOOK

Brainy Posted 21 September 2019 Posted 21 September 2019 Put money on Essex at 9/4 5mins ago to soften the blow
Brainy Posted 21 September 2019 Posted 21 September 2019 Too many passengers in our batting line up this year sadly. Still, the one win last year will do me for a while longer, still punching above our weight
Corky Posted 22 September 2019 Posted 22 September 2019 The list of winners in this competition is heartening. 9 of the champions are non-International counties. Will be interesting if they do decide to cut numbers whether the most successful teams will be dropped whilst the likes of Yorkshire who've never won it would remain.

Voll Blau Posted 23 September 2019 Posted 23 September 2019 Quote England National Cricket Selectors have named a 15-strong squad for the five-match IT20 series in New Zealand, starting 1 November, and a 15-man squad for the two-match Test series against the Black Caps, starting 21 November. Eoin Morgan returns as captain after a memorable summer, where he led England to ICC Men’s World Cup glory in July. Tom Banton and Saqib Mahmood earn their first England call-ups after standout white-ball summers. Banton hit 549 runs for Somerset in the Vitality Blast – the second most in the tournament behind teammate Babar Azam, while Lancashire’s Mahmood added eight T20 wickets to his competition-leading 28 in the Royal London One-Day Cup. Worcestershire seamer Pat Brown and Lancashire spinner Matthew Parkinson also receive their first white ball call-ups. England IT20 squad Eoin Morgan (Middlesex) captain Jonny Bairstow (Yorkshire) Tom Banton (Somerset) Sam Billings (Kent) Pat Brown (Worcestershire) Sam Curran (Surrey) Tom Curran (Surrey) Joe Denly (Kent) Lewis Gregory (Somerset) Chris Jordan (Sussex) Saqib Mahmood (Lancashire) Dawid Malan (Middlesex) Matt Parkinson (Lancashire) Adil Rashid (Yorkshire) James Vince (Hampshire) Warwickshire opener Dominic Sibley is rewarded for his remarkable summer with a first England call-up to the Test squad. The 24-year-old had accumulated 1,324 Specsavers County Championship runs going into the final round of fixtures, including an unbeaten double century. Kent’s Zak Crawley is also included after a promising summer at the top of the order. Lancashire duo Saqib Mahmood and Matt Parkinson also receive call-ups to the Test squad. James Anderson was unavailable for selection in the Test squad as he continues his rehabilitation from a calf injury. The Lancashire seamer will work towards being available for the South Africa tour later this winter. The two Tests against New Zealand do not form part of the ICC World Test Championship. England Test squad Joe Root (Yorkshire) captain Jofra Archer (Sussex) Stuart Broad (Nottinghamshire) Rory Burns (Surrey) Jos Buttler (Lancashire) Zak Crawley (Kent) Sam Curran (Surrey) Joe Denly (Kent) Jack Leach (Somerset) Saqib Mahmood (Lancashire) Matthew Parkinson (Lancashire) Ollie Pope (Surrey) Dominic Sibley (Warwickshire) Ben Stokes (Durham) Chris Woakes (Warwickshire) Bairstow out, but still no place for Foakes! Good to see Banton in the T20 squad, but who the fvck needs a five-game series of that?!
TheSomersetFox Posted 23 September 2019 Posted 23 September 2019 Fan of the fresh blood in the test side. Never seen Parkinson or Mahmood bowl, heard Mahmood is quite sharp though.
Brainy Posted 23 September 2019 Posted 23 September 2019 Burns Sibley Denly Root Stokes Pope Buttler Curran/Woakes Archer Leach Broad I guess? Not sure why you'd pick both Sibley and Crawley unless again they just fancy chucking one of them in out of position at 3?
Guest Manini Posted 23 September 2019 Posted 23 September 2019 Only 2 tests in NZ, 4 in SA. Maybe Foakes goes on the ODI/Test heavy tour to South Africa instead of sitting around whilst they mess about with the T20 stuff in NZ? Spitballing here. He probably won’t get picked.
Guest MattP Posted 23 September 2019 Posted 23 September 2019 Mahmood and Crawling appear quite strange selections - neither have done anything to suggest they are near this standard.

Crawley plays for Ed Smith's old county. Mystery solved. Genuinely wouldn't put it past this lot to give him a run out before Sibley. 5 hours ago, Manini said: Only 2 tests in NZ, 4 in SA. Nah, wouldn't make any sense to give Buttler two games as keeper if they intend to switch again. Think they've got Foakes down as being a complete mug with the bat (he isn't), purely because he's a better keeper than the other two. Being good with the gloves is well down the list of attributes required these days sadly.
