Just settled down with a glass of red to watch the evening session and very first ball he has done exactly this:scarf:

Finally a human moment from the man.

Should really be looking to win from here, as the pitch wears any target over 220ish should be looking to be defendable. Leach needs to step up and show he can do the fourth innings cleanup as a good spinner should, though.

Easy to say that now, but in place of who?

Woakes had a brilliant summer, did nothing wrong in the first test and for some reason barely used in the second.

IMO a choice between Roy or Denly, he could have come in for Overton in the previous test

Part of me wonders if he's missed a straight one on purpose so that we spend the next Ashes series bowling on middle and leg.

As much as Stokes has been incredible this summer, my own personal cricketer of the year has to be Jack Leach.

He must have been out on the pitch batting longer than some of the batsmen.

He's taken 8 wickets in 6 innings at 33 - his batting has been heroic but I'm not convinced he's a great spinning option for us. Admittedly the seamers have left him with little work at times, but he needs to prove he can bowl a team out in the fourth innings.

Australia now 8/1 to win this test.

200 behind and 8 wickets to get, I still they've got a chance.

Might lump on...

Denly has put himself in an irritating position really lol Can't argue he hasn't scored the runs opening but he's absolutely not a long term answer at 34(?)

That catch by Smith to remove Woakes was superb :appl:

Aussies now 5/1 to win. Should have had a nibble when they were at 8's!

If you’d offered me Australia chasing 380-400 in the 4th innings on an Oval day 4 pitch I’d have bitten your hand off.

It's been that kind of series were the Aussies could still win this.

However as @Bobby Hundreds says, we'd have 100% taken this scenario with 2 days left.

Sure I’ve just read that Smith has never gotten  a fourth innings ton. If we get him out before he scores three figures, I don’t see them getting close.

Two key men for me are Smith and Labuschagne.

The sooner we get the pair of them out, the better our chances are.

His record is odd, he averages something like over 90 in the first innings of test matches yet barely 30 in the second innings.

Funnily enough, the Aussies are getting shitty again.

Wade trying to sledge Root.

The Aussies calling Stokes 'Bristol'.

And Smith telling Denly he only scored runs because the pressure is off.

All while the CA CEO complains about English fans booing their players.

Matter of time before they all end up in tears on the telly again, why is it always Australia?

😂😂😂

I'm confused, English players don't sledge?

They dont get anywhere near as personal when they sledge. There's a difference between talking cricket and sledging someone about their personal life - ask Bairstow.

De Kock did the same to Warner and he lost the plot.
