AKCJ Posted 3 January 2020 Posted 3 January 2020 Lets not suddenly act like we weren't desperate for Crawley all summer. He's young and this is his first test match. Give him time.

Give him time. Was anyone desperate for Crawley? Statistically he has done nothing to be near test cricket.

StanSP Posted 3 January 2020 Author Posted 3 January 2020 Root's motored on here! Is he in a rush for something Already gone past Denly's score of 27.
RowlattsFox Posted 3 January 2020 Posted 3 January 2020 Root was looking good today, didn't look happy about something. Usual starts but no-one kicks on, so far anyway.
ealingfox Posted 3 January 2020 Posted 3 January 2020 Ffs! I think I am going to have to switch off from cricket for a while. This is just dogshit.

Probably remembering how his tackle in the team building football match put his only in form batsman out of the tour
Guest MattP Posted 3 January 2020 Posted 3 January 2020 This SA team doesn't meet the racial quota does it? Has FAF finally had enough and just told them he isn't doing it?

Captain/Coach picks the XI from the squad doesn't he in South Africa? Remember De Villiers threatening to walk out before the World Cup SF over it in 2015. All looks a bit up in the air reading this. https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/temba-bavuma-dropped-to-leave-south-africa-short-of-target-n525whzvf
UniFox21 Posted 3 January 2020 Posted 3 January 2020 That was pathetic from Broad, trusted to face 1 ball and managed to twat his pads
surrifox Posted 3 January 2020 Posted 3 January 2020 Unbelievably crap performance . Series already gone after about 5 days cricket
UniFox21 Posted 3 January 2020 Posted 3 January 2020 Pope has been good, some nice hits in the game and is our top scorer so far at 49, laughable for the rest of the batting order.

Osavo Posted 3 January 2020 Posted 3 January 2020 Pope looks an organised player, very impressed thus far.

Have enjoyed him making this score look relatively respectable when others around him have failed. But that shot that got him out (but also didn't) was a bit reckless!

Pretty sure if he's with another batsman he never plays that shot.

Corky Posted 3 January 2020 Posted 3 January 2020 Don't know why we are cautiously backing four day Tests- they've become the norm for our team.
Voll Blau Posted 4 January 2020 Posted 4 January 2020 I know you have to weight the fact Labuschagne is making easy-ish runs at home, but it really does seem like Archer lidding Smith at Lord's was the best thing that could have happened to Australian cricket for a while. Guy's in some form.
