Vacamion Posted 20 November 2019 Posted 20 November 2019 I was up today at 05:00 for work, but I am soooooo having 45 minutes or so of this. Glass of Port, chunk of Stilton. Bob's yer uncle.
ealingfox Posted 20 November 2019 Posted 20 November 2019 How many times is this guy going to call him Joe Burns?
fuchsntf Posted 20 November 2019 Posted 20 November 2019 Quiet but interesting start..so far no Silly or nonsensical shots....unusual for England openers.... Whoops Sibley ...

Voll Blau Posted 21 November 2019 Posted 21 November 2019 Solid day's work. Looks like we showed exactly the kind of discipline we've been missing.
RowlattsFox Posted 21 November 2019 Posted 21 November 2019 How long until people say we are boring. Good to see some determination not to throw it away, it's only a good day if we can cash in with Stokes and Butter tomorrow. Solid start.
ealingfox Posted 21 November 2019 Posted 21 November 2019 Who is the third umpire in this? Stevie Wonder?
Guest MattP Posted 21 November 2019 Posted 21 November 2019 That's seriously close - about an inch up at the back it might just be behind but impossible to tell. Can stay with the on field decision.

It's not clear at all, about a cm or so above the top of the black back part of the heal could feasibly be behind the line as you can't see all the white line behind it. On balance I'd say it's probably a no ball - but it's not certain.

Nobody would have complained about it being called a no-ball.
cambridgefox Posted 21 November 2019 Posted 21 November 2019 Oh dear.Lot of hardwork undone very quickly.
fuchsntf Posted 21 November 2019 Posted 21 November 2019 Archer & Curran, came out with all that Morning Coffee Adrenilin,But still half asleep....4 wickets vor 60,with Stokes & Pope well set.... if it aint the First 4,the Middle will do their damnest to give Away strong positions...
RowlattsFox Posted 22 November 2019 Posted 22 November 2019 Disappointing to not go big but 350 is progress I guess Doesn't look like a pitch you can score quickly on. Shame Buttler had to bat with the tail again. As in most test cricket these days, two evenly match teams with bowlers being the better test players.
Bobby Hundreds Posted 22 November 2019 Posted 22 November 2019 Think 350 is a very good score on this pitch, NZ wobbling to 140-4. It's such a luxury having Buttler coming in at 7, been really impressed with him the last 3-4 tests.
Guest MattP Posted 23 November 2019 Posted 23 November 2019 Bowled as poor as I've seen today. Leach and Archer woeful. Hard to see us winning from here.
RowlattsFox Posted 23 November 2019 Posted 23 November 2019 Bowlers again struggling overseas and Root struggling with captaincy when nothings happening.
Guest MattP Posted 24 November 2019 Posted 24 November 2019 Before we think about building a team to win in Australia we need to get a team who can be competitive in New Zealand. Early days but Leach really struggling on a pitch Santner has 3-6 on
surrifox Posted 24 November 2019 Posted 24 November 2019 The bowling at the 7th wicket pair was frankly embarrassing - no plan or attempt to make something happen just waiting for a declaration
ealingfox Posted 25 November 2019 Posted 25 November 2019 Pope, mate - talk me through that. Ffs Crazy catch though!
RowlattsFox Posted 25 November 2019 Posted 25 November 2019 Again, rubbish when opposition get in front. Going to be a long winter for this test team, can't see them winning too many apart from maybe in Sri Lanka. Root needs a break, lost all his confidence with the bat and is messing around too much trying to get it back.
