Sadly, I don't think there is. At absolute best, he would be a luxury that we would have to nurse through the season minutes-wise. And on those wages it is a luxury we cannot afford.

He’s looked hurt all season. It’s a disgrace the club have allowed such a legend to endure such a shit season. I’ve got a feeling now we’re down, Vards will say one or two choice things around Seagrave and I’m of the impression they won’t offer him a new deal because of it.

Sorry but no matter his status, his performances under Ruud have been awful. Little service and bad performances around him of course give him little chance to do much, but there's been far too many games where he's just stood there pointing at other people to do stuff whilst jogging around. Hasn't been able to lead from the front and certainly hasn't shown any other leadership qualities to justify being captain.

 

Absolute legend and these relegations don't tarnish that, but he has been one of the biggest problems this year and as impassioned as that message may be, it also sounds a bit like he's blaming others. A sad day when he goes but it's absolutely essential that he does. Both from a footballing perspective but also because it severs ties with what was the old regime

He has literally been flogged for most of the season the way he has been managed has been appalling. The whole of our attacking. shape and play has been woeful under Ruud,  look Vardy is and always be a legend at this club, I think the reason he points a lot is because he is coaching player around him, where they should be etc I don’t have an issue with that in the slightest.

 

what this statement shows is just how frustrated he has been with what has gone on. We saw the previous relegation season how a managers piss poor management of Vardy and negative tactics restricted his ability to be effective, lo and behold last season his game time was managed brilliantly and the team was well coached and he flourished. I don’t believe he is finished and as I have said previously I would keep him as long as it’s a sensible contract and his game time is managed he would be brilliant mentor to the young players that we will be much more reliant on next season.

He's 38 and played the most minutes for us this season behind Justin. This as far as I'm aware, is a record for an outfield player. Its hard to criticise him already but really it's not fair considering what he's been asked to do at his age in this shocking team.

 

He's supposed to make the odd start and be an impact sub. Massively mismanaged by Ruud and Cooper. Still managed the 19th highest xG which is impressive.

He’s nearly 40……. What do you expect him to do? He’s been played pretty much every game and expected to fire a team to safety? At his age? He’s been let down by the club and the manager….. he’s been hung out to dry.

Guys, whilst I appreciate what has been said, this statement is and was generated using AI. Both Vardy and Ricardo have “—“ (double hyphens) in their posts, a typical tell tale sign. Both their statements also have the same tone and sentiment. The LCFC media team had these statements generated for each player and ready to go based on how they interact and are perceived by the media (so it looks like their own words). For a 38 year old, 7 goals and 3 assists in a relegated team who have scored 27 is a decent return, as I have said he is far from the problem or cause of our issues this season.
