Put a 2 year contract on the table.

They guy has still got it.

He's got that left in the tank, easily. His advantage is he came in to the game late. Your Rooney's and Owen's were burnt out at 30. Too much, too young.

We've had some incredible players in the last decade... Cambiasso, Kante, Tielemans, Mahrez...but Vardy is different gravy.

Every single team in the world would kill for a goalscorer like that, even at 38.

You'll struggle to find the like of him anywhere.

Completely agree and even if the form does drop off, he would be worth the money spent just having him around the place

Are there any young players who could be genuinely be like him, as close as possible anyway, in the lower leagues who could be worth a punt on?

Genuinely think he's one of a kind unfortunately

Vardy is unique. Vardy is a legend. Vardy is Leicester.

(I have always said I am thankful he is Leicester, because if if he wasn't at your club, you would have to hate him. And I'd rather die than hate him.)

Honestly, I'd give him a player-coach contract at the end of the season. Do his coaching badges with us, work under Ruud to get them and work his way up with us. Who knows? He could even win trophies with us from the dugout one day.

Richard Kone may be the best comp, but Wycombe snapped him up.

Reckon his wife wants a move abroad, possibly the US.

Nope. Signed young Vardy back then in the Championship Manager series. Can't find anyone now in Football Manager with the same impact.

Embarrassingly, I wrote him off twice at Leicester.

Didn't think he was good enough in his first season in the Championship. Didn't think he was good enough in his first season in the Prem.

I don't know what I'm talking about lol

A good lesson to not prematurely write people off. My mates still remind me of my Vardy criticisms to this day... and it's hard not to blame them!

You're a brave and honest soul.

Vardy for Leicester is the equivalent of Michael Jordan for the Bulls. He's untouchable anyway you see it. Personal records, team records, trophies, every record was broken and everything was achieved under his era. We're talking about the Vardy era.

He’s a one off.  An absolute freak in football terms.  I remember after we signed him hearing Pearson say we had to have patience as he’d go right to the top.

After that first season I thought he was mental.

That period between 2015 and 2021, I don’t think there was a better striker in the world.

Listen, Leicester might not thank me for this but get the contract out, put it on the table, and let him write how ever many years and whatever he wants on it cos Vardys at the wheel man, he's doing it, he's doing his thing Leicester City are back!!

If Vardy was playing for Barca/Real or Bayern that period his stats would have been out of this world.

I don’t think the board has the audacity to make contract proposals or set terms regarding Vardy. You just meet him and ask what he wants and which are his future plans. I know this is professional football but there are players you simply don't negotiate with. Vardy is one of them.

His awareness is like no one else in football. He just knows when to make those runs, when to play the ball, when to take the chance on, etc.. Never over complicates it and always looks a huge threat. Age doesn't matter when you've got the game intelligence he has. I reckon he's got another 2 or 3 years in him still.
