Freeman's Wharfer Posted 7 May 2019 Posted 7 May 2019 Going to be so harsh on Chilwell if Maddison has taken Young Player, Ricardo takes Player Of The Year, and he walks away with nothing.

Both have been better in their respective categories, the same way Vardy hasn't won it anywhere near as much as you'd think he would.

I think Chilwell has been better than Maddison. There was a spell Maddison wasn’t offering a lot and he’s often been hooked during games. Chilwell was our best player for the first 8 games and has been consistently good thereafter. As always happens, people have short memories and vote on the last 3 months.

Chilwell though faded a small bit at the turn of the year. Ricardo has been our best player overall too. Would be a worthy POTY.

All a matter of opinion though isn’t it? More people thought Maddison has been better overall. I thought both of them were very similar in that they started the season very well, hit a rough patch mid season, and picked up again at the same time post-Puel. I voted Maddison over Chilwell because if I had to pick one, I think removing him from our side would have a bigger negative impact than removing Chilwell.

Where as Maddison started well, then was very poor from September to December and again until Rodgers came in where he has then been very good again. The only reason Chilwell would get it is due to what he did for England this year but although related isn't likely to be considered. Look at Maddison's output in terms of creation.
TheSomersetFox Posted 7 May 2019 Posted 7 May 2019 Would have had no complaints if Chilwell has won YPOTY but it’s been just as deserved for Madders. They’ve both been fantastic really, but well done to Maddison
brucey Posted 7 May 2019 Author Posted 7 May 2019 Ricky’s gonna win the triple isn’t he Edit: Maybe just the double
