I would probably move back to Italy because I know the language and have friends there but their politics is even worse than usual at the moment. I would consider moving to a big city in the US but I'd be worried about costs and personal safety.

If I had an opportunity for me and the other half to move to Canada on the same cash etc as here I would probably go for it.

My parents did that. My Dad got to 48 and decided enough was enough, moved to Italy a year later. They have been there 9 years now. Live quite remote in the national park. Not really my idea of fun as very few people that far south speak English, which I find difficult especially when you require building works or maintenance works doing. I fancy following suit one day, but think Ibiza would be my destination. But like you it would probably require both my kids being sorted over here 1st or they best learn Spanish and get jobs there

Got to the point that we vowed never to go in one again haha! Italy in the south is bonkers,.they know it as well and I swear they like to live up to that tag. Love it for a holiday mind, but not to live. That was our plan 10 years ago but it beat us, or rather the Italians beat us

I never made it down south as I was in Bergamo but Italians in general are a bit special. Drove to the San Siro and the toll road had a section that went from 15 lanes to 3, absolutely hilarious.

The north and south are like 2 different countries, I think the North would quite easily spilt if they could. Agree on the driving,, it's mad isn't it. Used to ferry from the mainland to Sardinia a lot in my van and it was like the start of a F1 race. Total free for all.

Comical style of management Yup..loved it..I never compare,I am the one who has to adapt,when I go into a new land...So nothing phased me over the years. Either at normal employee level,or answerable positions,instructor or technical management. I worked and travelled to learn..not to tell others their faults and how weird they are!! I spent majority of life has a tech-troubleshooter .so it's best to integrate,before jumping on the divides

Amazing quality of life and seems much better than living here. I would consider it if things were different for me here. However England still has some positives.

Once my family responsibilities are over, im moving to Vancouver, Incan earn more then double, property is about the same price but lifestyle is excellent

I've got some similar horror stories about management and workplace style from this side of the East Sea, but that being said there are just as many where the manager is totally sound - like the place I'm working at right now.
