In the comments so many non City fans  talk about McAllister so highly as a player, which is great to see.

He gets mentioned on here by some people, but generally seems to get overlooked when we have threads about our great players. I’d love to have seen him play for us, with my age only really caught the back end of his career at Liverpool and Coventry. I’m pretty sure he’s won everything domestically, a few cups with Liverpool and league title with Leeds.

he reminded me a lot of Muzzy Izzett where he had the skill and could pick out a peach of a pass but could generally do his thing without grabbing the headlines too much… respectable coach too I think.

Did they ask Smith why he always slags us off in commentary?

Always felt he was bitter because Lineker overshadowed him here.

Well deserved. First full season and won the league.

Great to see Orient back in the third tier too.

Tbf McAllister played in what was arguably our worst period since the early 50’s (until the mid 00’s)

I think most have blanked that period out

Bernardo Silva ranks Mahrez as the player with the best first touch at Man City. High praise from Silva, who is one of the best technical players I have ever seen in best part of three decades watching the sport. I have never seen anyone with a first touch better than Mahrez though, we were lucky to watch him in the blue of Leicester City.

Steve Claridge is on the first episode of the new series of Quickly Kevin, get it wherever you get your podcasts

Good listen, he comes across really well and couldn't believe he'd won that many Player of the Season awards
