Jimothy Posted 19 November 2019 Posted 19 November 2019 Boris loses huge points by answering a question about political debate by going on about labour's brexit policy. I know politicians like to dodge questions, but they do usually try and stay somewhere in the ballpark of what was asked.
Mike Oxlong Posted 19 November 2019 Posted 19 November 2019 I prefer the interventions otherwise they just get license to waffle Even with the shortness of time they still try to avoid answering the specific question and have to be dragged back on track
StanSP Posted 19 November 2019 Posted 19 November 2019 who is this guy flirting with through the camera
Nalis Posted 19 November 2019 Posted 19 November 2019 The NHS is surely where Corbyn goes for the attack here.

StanSP Posted 19 November 2019 Posted 19 November 2019 1 minute ago, Nalis said: The NHS is surely where Corbyn goes for the attack here. He's got Boris bumbling. Standard. Do Tories really think a 4-day week means the NHS shuts down for 3 days
StanSP Posted 19 November 2019 Posted 19 November 2019 'how can you reassure me that the money you spend will benefit me and take us out of austerity' Boris turns it to end with 'get Brexit done'. Yawn.
Guest Manini Posted 19 November 2019 Posted 19 November 2019 I think Boris is using the term “Brexit” just like Lois Griffin did on that episode of family guy where she ran for Mayor and just kept saying “9/11”
Mike Oxlong Posted 19 November 2019 Posted 19 November 2019 I wonder how many floating voters there actually are We know that the likes of Matt P will always vote labour and Alf Bentley is an unshakeable Tory
Guest MattP Posted 19 November 2019 Posted 19 November 2019 The economics argument is becoming laughable - it's obvious neither of them can seriously afford what they are promising. Seems to have slipped the mind of both we are still borrowing heavily whilst going through all the so called "austerity".
HappyHamza Posted 19 November 2019 Posted 19 November 2019 I think by the end corbyn had at least levelled it though I guess if you believed Johnson's lies you might disagree.
StanSP Posted 19 November 2019 Posted 19 November 2019 The irony that Boris says Corbyn 'can't answer questions tonight' when Boris's opening statement begins with 'get Brexit done'. This is an election debate not a Brexit debate.

And there's no indication about what the provisions are if all this borrowing spending, upping the minimum wage and increasing corporation tax just leads to either demand-pull or cost-pull inflation or even stagflation, which is a very real Economic possibility. We've aalready been struggling to put interest rates up for years now. Could easily lead to a stagnant economy riddled with debt as has happened with Japan after its Keynesian attempts to spend itself out of stagnation.

Buy votes with IOU's for their grandchildren to pick up the tab. Not going to change until we has a serious calamity.

You can see already Boris is going to be going all out to make sure it doesn't happen again.
RoboFox Posted 19 November 2019 Posted 19 November 2019 Johnson’s continual reference to Brexit didn’t do him any favours. He’s preaching to the choir within his own support. To anyone undecided, it sounded like a simple inability to pertinently answer the questions posed to him. Also, his oven and microwave analogies don’t get any funnier the more he comes out with them. Embarrassing stuff.
lgfualol Posted 19 November 2019 Posted 19 November 2019 Tories changed their Twitter handle to factcheckUK and started tweeting anti-Labour stuff. Bit dodgy.
WigstonWanderer Posted 19 November 2019 Posted 19 November 2019 Couldn’t stand listening to Johnson any more in that debate and switched off about 40 mins ago. He doesn’t even try to answer the questions. Very noticeable that Corbyn just isn’t prepared to sling enough mud at him and his deplorable character.

Surprised he agreed for this debate this early on rather than dodging it until the last minute to be honest.
David Guiza Posted 19 November 2019 Posted 19 November 2019 Boris supporters jeering when Corbyn mentioned that a chaotic environment hits the poorest the hardest was a particular highlight. Some on both sides would applaud 6ft of stacked sh*t if it were wearing the correct ribbon. As has been proven some may argue. I'm so fed up with tribal politics.

That and when he was talking about needing to take action on climate change etc 'oh here we go again' etc.
SecretPro Posted 19 November 2019 Posted 19 November 2019 GET BREXIT DONE is so ****ing nauseating already. Fast becoming Boris Johnsons only answer, the anthem to a race of knuckle dragging nobends and clearly already wearing thin on everyone else. Brexit is literally a dust particle of an issue in comparison to others, not to mention that this is a general election, and believe it or not, that involves things that are not brexit related. To continue down the road of 'the NHS is underfunded because we haven't got brexit done' and 'we can't fight climate change because we havn't got brexit done' is extremely disingenuous at best and frankly delusional. JUST MY OPINION.
