The ruling party are openly lying to the electorate but let's all laugh at melodramatic celebrities.

I would be surprised if these tactics actually help them and I find it very difficult seeing them being defended. I do think the tactics are a reaction to the previous election where Labour were able to make claims that went unchallenged e.g. they will ‘sort’ tuition fees which I think Matt has already pointed out.

 

I do find it strange that despite labour leading this poll, it appears only Alf openly supports Labour being elected on here unless I have missed someone?

It's not really both "sides" is it? One's an admittedly immature and very unsubtle piss-take by some guy somewhere, one is the government masquerading as a legitimate fact-checker and paying Google to get their criticisms of the Labour manifesto above the manifesto itself in search listings

Are you suggesting that the name of a twitter account gives it legitimacy rather than the content and are you suggesting that they could not in deed fact check labours claims?

As far as the website great move on their part they only registered it 3 days ago under the very nose of the most tech savvy people in tge Uk who are going to deliver fiber broadband to the nation for 14 billion less than the company they are going to privatise say it will cost.

Interesting you want us to 'start to look at the reality' when you literally have the home secretary saying the government didn't cause poverty and blamed it on local authorities cutting costs on services.

 

Why the fvck do you think those local authorities have had to make cuts in the first place?! The government have been making cuts left, right and centre. 

 

Look at the fvcking reality of food bank usage increasing at an alarmingly high rate under Tory government. Look at the police cuts, the NHS cuts. There's your reality.

Comparing two joke sites owned by random blokes to a government-funded disinformation campaign.

 

Its very interesting that a couple posters are defending this to the bone whilst also advocating for a Home Secretary who wants to virtually militarise the police.

Hilarious though that he didn't think he wasn't in the top 5%, and that he thought every solicitor and doctor earned more than £80k.

I don't know, perhaps I'm just speculating here...but maybe, just maybe, the thing to blame is the system that makes things so confrontational and zero-sum itself, rather than the sides that are picked as a part of it?
