It could be that he plays right back until the end of the transfer window, filling in for the injured Ricardo. We then sell Chilwell, and he converts to the left hand side, with JJ filling in for Ricardo until Riccy returns

Spent most of this season playing as more of a really advanced wing back/wide midfielder on either side rather than a full back, could be we are committing to the 3 at the back?

The issue that comes with this is that if benkovic isn’t rated we’d really need 2 more cb’s.

Castagne would be coming only as a straight Chillers replacement - no way he backs up anybody on our roster.  Likely he'd go straight in on the left and JJ would play the right until Ricardo was back.  You don't move a player the likes of Castagne to accommodate Jones.

Juventus are buying Hateboer the first choice right back/right wing back for Atalanta, and they are very likely to have interest in Gosens

I’m not convinced. Very surprised when I read Hateboer is leaving to be fair, always thoughts Gosens would be the one to go this summer.

 

I don’t think many more will leave, hopefully Illicic sorts his head out.

I think Castagne has played a lot of his career at Left back. This season he’s been used at right wing back

Would expect a fee of maybe £15m.

Doesn't look like he does unless its a back 5? Probably could do a job if we do play the back 5 but he's predominantly a RB.

Evidently more of a right sided player than left but would it be a huge disaster to sign him and play either him or Justin at left back when Ricardo returns? We certainly are prepared for the eventual departure of Ricardo too as Castagne is a top PL full back in the making IMO.
