EPL to be finished in Perth?

A (perfectly logical) plan to play the rest of the season here in Perth.

We have only 19 cases of the virus, none for four days, the weather and the required grounds. Lets make this happen :)

Would be fantastic, but if the Australian leagues (AFL, AL) won't be finished in Perth don't see why the PL would be.

If we go abroad, the EPL will use it in the future to take games to the U.S and Asia. Similar to what the NFL do. Think it’s a bad idea.

Agree think this will be a gateway to games abroad in the future. No good, if it can’t be finished England then cancel it like every other country is seeming to do.

Why should they?

Play it here? (Perth)

I assume the suggerstion was made because ...

1) West Aust has only 19 Covid Cases so its a safe place

2) $$$$$$$$$$$$$

3) Someone wanted to big themselves up

I just mean anywhere, but let alone the other side of the world lol Just bugs me that people (not you necessarily) are constantly coming up with desperate ideas such as locking players in isolation for every minute between games for 6 weeks in a foriegn country just to finish the season. Bit of an exaggeration but yeah, footballers are still humans.

If Perth has only 19 recorded cases of Covid 19 then I am sure the locals will have something to say about the potential huge numbers of people invading their manor for football.

This.

If we can't finish the AFL there, the EPL won't be finishing there.

Well, the AFL are looking at a similar concept of a single location for all games (or maybe 2). just not in Perth

At least a 25 man squad, plus coaches , manager, physio etc. Would be around 50 per club, 20 clubs, that 1000 people. Would Australia let 1000 people from our country right now? I doubt it.

im sure all would have to be tested, then a 14 day isolation... why wouldnt they.

Just to be clear, i dont think it will happen, but it easily could.

Its an interesting idea, I wouldn't be against it.

It won’t happen, nor should it happen, because of the ridiculous time difference just for starters. It’s just a silly idea full stop tbh for numerous reasons.

If we wanted it off shore just ship it out to the 100% virus free Falklands, much more manageable time difference no need to negotiate with any foreign governments as we own it, you could even open it to fans once all travellers had been quarantined. They only have a 5,000 capacity but better than behind closed doors.

But even that is a daft fcking idea.

Finish it here or cancel it.

So having had 0 cases in the last 4 days and 19 only, you want to import 1000s of potential carriers.

Not sure that's ideal.

There are worse things than 2 weeks on Rotto in May.  Will be getting a bit cool though.

Are we just forgetting about the rest of the efl then?

Because to do this because ‘it’s safer’ doesn’t make sense if your leaving the rest of the pyramid to play in England.
