Today was pretty big in my book. I saw something different today - maybe Bournemouth was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Sheff United weren't anywhere near their best. That United game will be a different beast altogether

Of course, but maybe we had something to do with that.

If it was a fair competition I would be so torn.

The last day just feels like a write off though unfortunately. We've got to win at Tottenham.

I think if we take the Spurs and United games with the same attitude and intensity as today we should get good results.

He will have to rugby tackle him or break both his legs for VAR not to over turn it.

They'll still say it's not clear and obvious...

Gone with 3rd. With us making some form of European competition next season I reckon it could take the shackles off.

And honestly, if we play to the level we're capable of, both spurs and utd have errors in defense.

As was the case for the first half of Bournemouth. We imposed ourselves. The half time change ruined that game for us. Glad we didn't repeat the same mistake tonight.

I think the players switched off 2nd half at B'mouth, regardless of the change. That won't be allowed to happen again, I hope.

5th.

CL should be done and dusted already.  Failure to hang on for 90 seconds at Watford and shambolic capitulation to a Bournemouth side that were already beaten means that we've chucked our season down the pan.

Yes, I'm still smarting from Sunday,

Leicester beat Spurs

United beat West Ham

Chelsea lose to 'pool.

Surely United and Leicester agree to just draw the game and both qualify at Chelsea's expense?

Could happen...

Until they win a jammy pen in the 90th min to knock us out

We're probably favourites to finish 5th but I would hardly call it needing a miracle. It's two one off games, if we win one then we're almost there.

We are clear favourites for 5th place. i don't think in terms of what i think will happen but in probability. Give or take a few points the chances of a top four finish are:

Man Utd 75%

Chelsea 75%

Leicester 50%

it would be great to get a positive result against Tottenham and bring Chelsea into play for us but I take comfort in the fact that in all likelihood whatever happens in the next round of matches we get another bite of the cherry when we play Man Utd and a win will take us above them. In fact a single goal victory will be enough as long as there isn't a six goal swing when we play Tottenham and Man Utd play West Ham.

I reckon 5th

Sunday 19 July

Spurs v Leicester City 4pm DRAW

Wednesday 22 July

Man Utd v West Ham 6pm MAN U WIN
Liverpool v Chelsea 8:15pm DRAW

Sunday, July 26
Chelsea v Wolves CHELSEA WIN
Leicester City v Man Utd DRAW

Final Predicted Table:

3) Chelsea 67pts

4) Man Utd 66pts

5) Leicester 64pts

United goal difference is uncomfortably close as well. Can't see us getting anymore than a 1-0 while they could hit West Ham for 6

Manchester United only beat West Ham 2-1 in the reverse fixture. West Ham look more of a goal threat than Palace do.

Beat spurs then play 8-1-1 formation against united. Simples

Or the emergency formation of 9-1-1, nine Goalkeepers.

We'd need to have Rudkin take a forensic investigation into the rules and get Kasper's spare jersey's in the wash.

I don't think last night changes much unfortunately. I still think ultimately we'll need to beat Man Utd on the last day, which will be a massive ask.

BUT I've made peace with that now. Despite where we were pre-Christmas I accepted a few matches a go that Champions league wasn't going to happen. If it does, amazing, but if it's 5th place and straight into the Europa League group stages then that is still a good achievement and something that in time we will all get excited about.

Almost certain that we'll be going into the final day as underdogs. That suits me.

It changes EVERYTHING. 5th spot all but sewn up, and a sharpening of focus. Lose last night, and it was all but over. Now, heads will be clear and targets obvious.

All season I’ve dreaded the fact we play Man Utd last game, bemoaning the fact we needed to be over 3points ahead of them for safety. Now it turns out that it could be a blessing and there could be a twist to playing them last up.

I meant in regards to finishing in the top 4.

Point still stands - lose yesterday and it wasn't happening. Now it can happen and the belief to do it might be there too.
