A lot of miles on the clock though I remember him playing for Boro regularly when he was 18 / 19.

Yeah true. I think he was Middlesbrough's youngest captain at one point.

Sunderland favourites for the title, again... Absolutely no chance as it stands. We’ll be lucky to make the play-offs with Parkinson.

Tbf I never rated him as a Championship manager but he's got experience of League 1/League 2. Did well with Bolton and Bradford.

The league looks strong though, stronger than when we were in it for the one season.

Salford played Man United reserves tonight in the Johnstone Paint Trophy or whatever it is now.

Surprised Sky weren't all over it, could've been billed as Gary Neville Day with all of his shows on repeat then the live action with him commentating and analysing it all.

Like every other day on Sky.

Southend being embarrassed at home to Harrogate, one of my mates predicted them to finish bottom of the football league this season and I can see why!

Great win for Lincoln against Oxford. Appleton building a good, young  squad. Only 4 players left that played under Cowley.

I know an Oxford fan who said Appleton takes his time getting the squad to do what we wants and the type of football he wants to play. However when it happens, it’s great to watch.

Great to see Spurs fans so far raise 20k in shirt sales for Leyton Orient.

That is the first positive comment about Spurs fans I have ever read. The times they are a changing.

I don't like them but I can't knock that.

Decent win for Exeter at Mansfield, they're on track for their inevitable playoff final defeat at the end of the season.
