would anyone consider keeping him if he is willing to accept a bench role? certainly better than james and all the options in that spot, like gotze, lallana etc.

Is he shit? I don’t think we got to see much of him, if we sell Praet and can’t get rid of AS he’s got to be a consideration... isn’t he a Euro 16 winner... I mean FFS

Yes he really was very poor. I'm sure he's was a good player in the Portuguese league but he's even struggled against lower league opposition here. Weak and too slow on the ball.

I would like to see more of him and with the crazy schedule certainly will get his chance. 80k may seem like high wages but you'd be looking at 20 million probably to replace him minus the 10 we would probably get for him and there's a 10 million pound hole. Adding to the fact that his replacement would be on at least 40-50k a week maybe more I would say 80k as things stand probably represents value for money.

In terms of impact, our worst signing ever, in light of his transfer fee. Achieved absolutely nothing for us sadly.

I think that might be pushing it a bit, I can think of quite a few worse. Plus there's still time for him to make some kind of impact.

He cost 25m. Which of our signings who cost more have achieved less?

Cost is relative to the position of the club at the time. I'd say Mills was worse, maybe Kramaric (close call on that one). Point being 25 million is obviously a lot more than we spent on players in the past but relatively it is a pretty standard transfer for a team at our current level.

Also he's still at the club so it would be harsh to judge him until he leaves.

Problem is no-one wants to buy him. Same with big slim. We'll lose a sh*t ton of money on them anyway and considering we've been paying part of their wages on loan, the extra cost in wages might not be so much of an expenditure. We're not exactly blessed with numbers and the experience they have in European football there is every chance they'll get game time. Can't see them getting much in the prem.

He's a decent player but on way too much money plus with KDH and Tavares looking good enough for at the very least some eastern European farmers teams you can't really see where he fits in

I just dont get how a player can be so good at Sporting only to be written off so quickly here. I get that the leagues are different, but ffs if you're that good at football that you can be a star at Sporting ****ing Lisbon why can't you eventually adapt here.

I mean one of the things the Sporting fans at work were saying is how how good he is at adapting to different situations and styles of play!
