I won't tuck into boomers for being old and smug. However, there's no fool like an old fool, and as a general point I find ignorance and rudeness in people of advancing age more unforgiveable the older they get - almost as though they think having lived x years gives them the right ro respect, when it actually has to be earnt every single day.

So, I'm wrong in saying that wine companies adulterate their products with lactose to make them smoother?

Fair play to Hardys for being honest. My bottom never lies.

Us Vegans have known about this for years ;)

Considering how much you talk out of it... that is some statement!

Accepted an offer on our house today, we got the offer on Friday.

Opened our post half an hour later, we received a card from moonpig from someone sending a “welcome to your new house” card from Linda, we accepted an offer 15k below asking price.

I about feinted, who the hell does that. This Linda has sent a card on Friday first class and we hadn’t even accepted it.

Going back to the agent tomorrow and asking her to up her offer, fvck her. The agent will have to smooth it over.

Just filling out a questionnaire we need to complete before my son can have surgery and wondering if anyone within the medical field could explain something to me please.

This is the question:

We would advise that your child does not receive any immunisations within 2 week of their surgery. Please confirm that you have understood this.

Both our children are up to date with jabs and such, we're not stupid after all, but is there a specific reason why having the jabs close to a surgery could be a problem? Literally never heard of this and don't understand.

Thanks if anyone has the time to explain.

So someone put a low offer in and then Moonpigged themselves to your house in an attempt to pressurise you to accept? That is, playing on your empathy?

I’m no expert but have had many surgeries under GA over the years.

I think having Immunisations close to surgery could maybe affect having an anaesthetic so they want to make sure there’s no risk of the immune system being compromised.

Maybe an arse covering exercise in case of any complications but if your son had his latest jabs a while ago then there shouldn’t be anything to worry about.

Hope everything goes well :fc:

Does this include the ones who grew up in poverty, lived in a slum area, did national service, barely survived TB, received no handouts, no central heating in two of the worst winters on record.....

I could go on but suspect you are on a wind up or massively ill informed.

National Service ended in 1960. And what does it prove anyway? Being forced to do something doesn't make you any better than someone who wasn't.

You know exactly what I meant - I think it was my fury in typing this out

Well not really. Because you talk about trying to one up the buyer and the agent, so that could be a feint from your side.

But then it also seems you’re angry, so you may have fainted.

Spelling error or linguistic genius!!

If in doubt, both.

I'm proper shit at DIY, always have been. Wife and kids been moaning about old dripping taps in the bathroom so I decided to replace them without paying for a plumber this time .

Bought new taps, tap spanner, basin wrench etc, got on YouTube and followed the video.

Job done and I didn't flood the house in the process. Unbelievably proud of myself TBQH

A pair of tap washers would've been cheaper.

Tried that initially but the old taps are over 30 years old, falling to bits, and look shit. Total cost of tools and new taps was less than £40 so can't complain.

Sounds like a new house is more in order then. Bollocks to wasting time doing DIY.

Ours has been on and off the market for the last 12 months with 3 different agents, we're desperate to move to a newer/bigger house.

Despite lowering the price and having numerous viewings, we've had no solid offers.

There's 56 properties for sale in our small village but nothings shifting for whatever reasons...

Price it's usually price. Every property has a price.

Yep, and high interest rates. It looks like they will be going up as well so I can't see the property market improving any time soon.

Im starting to see lots of people being made redundant in the housing sector. It could be a difficult year economically.
