Teachers, farmers and medical staff are all equally vital to the healthy running of a country and I don't think people should be prioritising the needs and rights of any one above another.

You can think both the plight of farmers and that of nurses and teachers are worthy causes without thinking nurses and teachers should have the right to strike given their almost unique position as being able to screw up a lot of people lives in a very short period of time.

Nurses and teachers going on strike having the potential to cause a huge negative impact only shows how important they are to society. How else are they supposed to bargain for better working conditions?

Like everybody else who doesn't hold that leverage.

Which is how, exactly?

Go to your manager, explain how your decisions have created homelessness, unemployment and world poverty (except for a few) and provided another 3% increase in shareholder return...and then ask for another million on your bonus - easy

It's genuinely annoying that Top is called Top because it makes most criticism of the hierarchy/structure of the club look like a deliberate pun

Was in the lake district this weekend, the amount of people walking on the let hand side of the road same away as traffic was probably 70% of people. you are meant to walk towards on coming traffic for anyone wondering.

Always the people who have all the gear and no idea, dressed head to toe in mountain warehouse with their walking poles but do something so stupid like walking the same direction as the traffic.

Can you elaborate at all?

Right I'm not tired now.

She played Tubman a year or few back and it was quite the role to take. During this period she started to make some particularly degrading comments about the African American community. Not quite enough to be outraged in the most but there was one that was particularly unsavoury in that it mocked the American 'ghetto' vernacular.

A privileged British actor playing an antih slavery icon mocking the very people she should be representing is pretty poor form. To mock those whose economic privilege is a crutch and barrier even more so.

This has happened again with Wicked. That odious little outburst over a poster was completely dreadful. 'They took my eyes' a pathetic attempt at generating pathos as though we're supposed to gasp and reply 'oh no not your eyes how sinister'.

What it actually is is another example of punching downwards. Wicked ITSELF is fanfiction - written by a fan for fans. The act of a fan mimicking it's original poster shouldn't have been met with derision from the lead actor. She knew what she was doing - over inflating something in faux rage to try and generate some support.

It's a history of punching downwards after securing a role. It's not on. It's spineless and nasty.

Thanks for the additional information - that does all sound like pretty poor form tbh.

Here's a thread from people more qualified than I.

It's an attitude of 'I'm tangentially involved in this so I'm going to gatekeep access and engagement with my status' style punching downwards that I cannot bear.

Of course, anyone who calls her out on it is dismissed. The attack on a fan for creating a poster was dismissed entirely - it should have just been said to my friends.

No; that person had every right to create something that made them happy. That's the issue - not the fact you have been caught out being dreadful.

Not quite ground my gears but a sales guy booked in a call with me for 17:00 - 17:30 next week, is it just me or is that really presumptuous?

Even if the cut to winter fuel allowance is justified I find it difficult to accept that MPs should have such generous subsided food and drinks at Westminster or be able to claim heating expenses on their second homes.

Walking back through town after a quick beer after the match. Had an itch to scratch so bought a big choc bar from Tesco. Continue down granby st and there’s a huge Xmas market full of awesome smelling snacks but I’ve had 200g of Tesco milk chocolate!!! Never seen this market before but I’ll have a look when back for Xmas, looked great

Jeez twitter/x has turned into a pile of shite hasn’t it. Used to enjoy scrolling though seeing a few funny things , football related stuff and few bits on gaming and films etc but now all it is is people trying to get people to sign a petition to get another election because they are not happy, because the last people in charge were great and farage will be the saviour of the world. Trump and his supporters every where and when you do finally get something football related the comments are just random shit dell what I assume are not real people. Elon can take his rockets and fly himself to space and never come back

I hate Schrödinger's Xmas; where it both is and isn’t, depending.

For the alleviation of doubt to the morons and their lights up the road, it isn’t.

So the petition is over 2 million people. People getting excited like there wasn’t already over that amount of people that wouldn’t have voted labour anyway
