We really do make a lot of an ordeal about the weather don't we? With how common our "freak" weather is becoming, continues to be laughable watching the country flap at things authorities should be prepared for

It’s just the media driving it into a frenzy, and middle class people of a certain age buying into the frenzy.

Starmer out? Didn't realise he'd replaced RvN.

Thick as mince, ignorant fools, but they have a great eye for symmetry

I've deleted Twitter. It's just an absolute cesspit of right wing conspiracy bollocks. I also hate the normalisation of violence on the platform too. I've never expressed any interest in seeing violence and yet my feed seems to be a a constant stream of people punching other people unconscious....I've never 'liked' anything of this nature, not even once.

Finally, the influence Musk is trying to exert over UK politics is really disturbing. I find the whole thing deeply concerning. I've decided instead, that ignorance is bliss (rightly or wrongly), because sadly, he will likely succeed. What he has been tweeting about Labour, Tommy Robinson, Keir Starmer and particularly Jess Phillips, is as misinformed as it is abhorrent. It seems to me that Musk has a hard-on for violence and conflict, and what he is Tweeting is causing deep division in our country and emboldening the swathes of racist knuckle-draggers we have in this country. His backing of Reform will only cause chaos and conflict. See exhibit A from our fixture yesterday:

Without Musk and the current state of Twitter, I don't think shit like this happens. People who hold these 'views' would not have felt empowered to share them IMHO.

I can't be using that platform when I am so appalled by pretty much everything that **** does.

Rant over

Ps thank you, mods, for allowing my post. I realise it's contentious, but appreciate you not deleting it

They’re probably on this forum

Kind of want to delete twitter but there's so much good stuff on there I find it hard to. Like where else am I going to be able to browse maps showing the distribution of East Anglian surnames in the 13 colonies then watch a comical own goal from the Bulgarian third division over my morning coffee.

Same. I know it’s very au fait to announce,..

I gave up social media.

and my life is so much better for it.

Every couple of weeks. But I’ve got a slight flight delay now and the memes/gifs of Man Utd related personnel trying to get the game today called off are so funny

I got this in December some time and it was just a response (no racist or sexualized content that I remember) and the post was never approved. I believe the topic in itself of the thread was potentially sensitive.  Fook knows. Musk is watching.

More and more people are affected by the "walking slowly glued to the smartphone" habit. FFS if you absolutely must catch up email/insta/twitter whatever, just move to one side and let others past.

These will be "handed out" by the same people who "don't want to bring politics into football" whenever players take a knee or support rainbow laces etc.
