Somewhere to ask questions in case someone knows the answer, particularly those not obvious by Googling.

I'll start -

1  - Who is the oldest person to have ever played in the premier league? As in now and not at the time, got to be the odd player pushing 65 now?

2 - What is the longest chain of a manager playing under another manager in the premier league? I thought of Hoddle -> Gullit -> Vialli -> Di Matteo -> Lampard . Maybe there is a longer one. Cant think of any over 2 if we dont consider player - managers.

Doubt you'll find better than number 2.

Neville Southall is 62.

Steve Ogrizovic is 63.

In googling Ogrizovic (to confirm his age, he occurred to mind without Google) I came across what I think is the current oldest person to ever appear in the PL, at the current age of 68. I wouldn't have known it, be interested to see if anyone gets it.

John Burridge is the answer to number 1, is 68. Played for Man City back in 95 at the age of 43

Yep. Is presumably also the only, or one of very few, people to have played in the Premier League having played in the Football League in the 1960s.

Also just for clarity, if you google 'oldest player to of played in the premier league' it gives you the answer straight away

Actually Google would ask if you meant 'oldest player to have played in the premier league' and then show you the search results

Thanks, what about the second one when you dont consider player managers?

I think he played in goal for us lol

With the John Burridge one, I know he's definitely the oldest debutant in the premier league, but could there be someone who was born just before him who played in the earlier years of the league, making then slightly younger at debut, but actually older now, which is what the question is?

It looks like he's still the oldest. He was born in 1951, Strachan was born in 1957 and Oggy was 1957 or 58 I think.

Why football is called the 'beautiful game', especially the sports in trays world with al of its controversies - greedy agents and players, corrupt national leadership of the game (some could say that the English FA is so) etc.

John Wark at 63 might be the oldest player to have played Premier League.

Think we've already established that John Burridge is older at 68.

Which clubs have not finished any lower than the Championship play off places in the last 20 seasons?

All the clubs who've never been relegated from the premier league, so Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool, Man Utd and Spurs. Plus Villa and Newcastle as a guess.

Might be the oldest outfield player though.

Edit: Forget that, Gordon Strachen is older.
