For all the entertainment there's been in this series, the reality is even the best combined (and fully fit) eleven from these sides would struggle to beat the Aussies.

I think the recent Windies series has shown that the Aussie batting lineup can be got at. It's not nearly as formidable as it once was.

 

The issue is that their bowling attack is easily as good as it ever has been, so much more often than not they're going to skittle you for less anyway.

Spot on. England desperately need Wood, Atkinson, Archer & Carse to be fit & firing for The Ashes. Also, if England are to persist with 'Bazball', it needs to be done with brains & the ability to read a match situation a bit more.......Brook is a prime example, he has so much talent, but has started to play with too much arrogance. The Australian grounds are huge, so swinging from the hip won't always work.

He was, but he needs it to continue. Sometimes going into T20 mode too early has been his downfall recently. He is young though & is a future Captain.

Can't say that I agree. England chased down the target fair and square first Test, India outplayed them in the second, then choked in the 3rd.

 

England have won enough critical moments for this series to be 3-2 or even 4-1.
