Personally I would have put Smith in ahead of Bethell. He would have been a better partner for Root at that time. Hell - I'd have put Overton in ahead of Bethell.

The fact that Brook (who's innings was a classic - better than Root's imo), was caught by Siraj, who let him off on the boundary, is pure poetry. It's an amazing game cricket.

I think England will be buzzing with tbh. The forecast looks okay in the morning as some have said - heavy roller tomorrow morning as well.

 

What a series. Its a phenomenal sport if you like prolonged pain for 5 days with occasional moments of relief over a 6 week period.

Suits us massively. India has stopped us scoring as well as the wickets, a few good overs tomorrow and we should be fine.

We really should get through it. The break suits us better. The new ball won't matter that much apart from the fact it will travel faster to the boundary. (blind optimism - coupled with a smidgen of realism)

Overton and Atkinson can bat but Smith needs to get this done and be the finisher. If India get him straight away they'll win. 

Difficult to criticise but once Brook and Root got into position, they needed to sensibly finish it today. Brook gave India a lifeline when they were gone. Hard to judge Bethell on one match but he didn't take his opportunity, understandable though given the amount of cricket he's played.

Also, get the biggest, heaviest roller on there and go to town overnight.
