Justin man of match for me, I can’t see where the negativity towards Amartey tonight came from as he was ok didnt do anything wrong unless i fell asleep

With his spot-on assist for Cengo*, and an incredible job of blanking on our striker at the back post on the match-deciding set play ...

I have to give Dan Burn a "10".  An absolutely great game for City, hats off to him.

*alas, called back

funny how Vardy gets a better rating than some players for todays perfomance, when he was non existent today. Yeah he got no service at all , but he didn't offer anything either. How many touches did he have?

Cags was a wall

There are only 2 players with lower scores than Vardy:dunno:

Everyone was somewhere between 5s and 6s for me today, depending on the level of effort on show - except for Daley Campbell who I nudged up to MOTM (8) for a nice debut and still showing the attacking intent from the first to the last minute - which won us the corner and ultimately the game with Brighton's defence already halfway to Watford Gap.

Kelechi best of the rest (7) for the winner and a tidy enough cameo in general, and I nudged Tielemans up from a meh 5 to a 6 for that cross.

Shoutout to Ward, who did fine too (6), though admittedly he didn't have that much to do.

Ward always impresses me as a solidly competent GK in his rare appearances.  To the point where if Kasper were hurt for a couple of months I wouldn't panic, because Ward would be fine.  It's hard to judge the performance of anyone who plays as rarely as Ward does, and he'd surely be better if he got a run of games to prove himself.

Ward - 6 - Don't think he had to make a save and didn't cock his distribution up enough for me to notice.

VDC - 6 - Looks lively and confident. Think there is a player in there, will be interesting to see if he makes it at our level.

Amartey - 5 - Looked okay on the ball but caught out of position a few too many times.

Soyuncu - 6 - Some stunning passes but he's still not quite the man of last season. Tau seemed to get the better of him too often.

Justin - 7 - Thought he was our best player again last night. So composed on the ball. Will be sorely missed if his injury is anywhere near as bad as it looked.

Thomas - 4 - Thought he was generally very poor. Consistently caught in possession and didn't look to get up the pitch enough.

Ndidi - 5 - Didn't look fit. Wasn't as energetic as he usually is. Hope w've not rushed him back again.

Tielemans - 6 - Great cross for the goal and a few nice passes and turns in midfield.

Under - 2 - Every single time he gets the ball, our attack fizzles out. Not even close to Barnes/Albrighton.

Perez - 2 - Shocker. Wants half an hour on the ball every time he gets it. Just not quick enough for the English game IMO.

Vardy - 3 - No service, needs to do more to get himself into these sorts of games.

Hamza - 6 - Improved our midfield with his dynamism but otherwise fairly steady.

Maddison - 4 - Looked well off the pace. Woeful set pieces too.

Iheanacho - 6 - Won't credit him too much for the goal because it came about because of bad defending but otherwise helped link our midfield and attack better than Vardy did.

Fuchs - 5 - Don't think he had much to do to be honest. Tempted to "N/A" his rating, despite him having about 20 minutes.

I thought Vardy was bloody terrible 😂 and I hate saying that.

Perez and Under poor, Kelechi, Cags, Justin 7s

We haven’t seen a proper Vardy performance for a while now - probably since Spurs away. His touch appears to have deserted him, presumably because of the injury (pre-op and post-op). But once he regains his sharpness and confidence, I’m sure he’ll be back terrorising defences again. Hopefully starting with Liverpool’s...
