Popular Post Mike Oxlong Posted 5 March 2023 Popular Post Posted 5 March 2023 Yes, he and the team did bottle top 4 finishes but in those two seasons he did have us playing some great football at times. The problem is that Brendan has shown that he has a limited shelf life beyond which the quality of existing players deteriorates and recruitment gets worse. I don’t blame him for staying - that’s on the board but I do blame him for the downward trajectory across all areas on the playing side and the inability accept responsibility and to recognise and learn from his mistakes. I don’t think he has lost the dressing room as such but he is repeatedly incapable of selecting and motivating a competent team at this level. The refresh that is really needed is in relation to the manager. I’m not optimistic that we will stay up but even if we do a fresh start is needed across the management and coaching personnel in the summer. 5

wurmer Posted 5 March 2023 Posted 5 March 2023 I'd understand and kinda get the point of the "I haven't been able to sign anyone" as an excuse - IF - he was getting the best out of what we did have, that they were trying and giving 100% and looking like they want to play for him and us, i.e. trying but lacking in quality. But he isn't even managing to get that - I'd rather lose because of a lack of talent - I won't accept losing due to a lack of effort. He just doesn't have the ability to get players motivated and wanting to play for him. We are going down with him, and as they won't sack him, that means we are going down. 1

Well it is it just depends what you mean by a long time. I thought it was around October 21 but I've not been stalking him.

Well it seems to be a precise, very short and reflecting exactly what we need...action from the manager, or the players and the board. Or possibility of relegation looms ever closer...

Heard he sold the house in Wysall last August, but wanted to leave due to the wife's wishes. Edited 5 March 2023 by Wymsey
Sir Shep Posted 5 March 2023 Posted 5 March 2023 Is he still here, has he gone yet, oh so original. Clearly he isn't leaving do just deal with it and just hope things improve.
