6 Transfer windows.....

Starting XI in Claude Puel's last game against Palace.

..........................Schmeichel

Pereira....Evans....................Maguire....Fuchs

..........Maddison......Ndidi........Tielemans

..........Ghezzal........Vardy........Barnes

Starting XI today against Chelsea.

...................................Schmeichel

........Fofana...................Evans.................Amartey

......................................Mendy

Castagne........Maddison................KDH....Thomas

.........................Vardy...............Iheanacho

How can people still seriously sit there, and back him, with such disastrous recruitment?

Claude Puel signed more of our starting XI than Rodgers has! Pereira, Tielemans, Soyuncu, Evans, Maddison.

The longer he stays, the longer our rebuild will take. I'd genuinely take Puel back this summer, as I know we'd at least recruit well enough for the next manager.

I can sorta forgive this season due to the huge amounts of injuries to so many key players.

I know I will get ridiculed and told that how come now they all back we still look crap, but in football consistency is key isn’t it?

Good point ,I don't think you will get ridiculed you made a valid point ,

F*** are on you about league one? When we sacked Puel we were bottom half of the table, the expectation when Rodgers took over was nothing like finishing 5th and challenging until the last day twice to get in the champions league. It was WAY beyond expectation.

If we'd started off shit and gone on a great run and finished 5th people would laud the achievement. Despite results being exactly the same as things happening the other way around. What matters is where we finished, end of story. HE got us in that position in the first place and exceeded expectations.

I bring up League One as you said about a fifth place finish being good enough for Leicester?

Puel was SACKED after he didn’t fulfil the aspirations so WHY would you compare his reign if feel the need to belittle my League One comment?

Rodgers media narrative for his first two seasons was “we want to disrupt the traditional top 6”, on a side note with 5000/1 odds we did win the league only three years prior his arrival  but let’s forget that shall we?

I’m actually baffled how the Rodgers in crew can be so blinded by his own media BS.

Do I expect us to finish in the top 6 every season? No

Did we have a genuine chance when spent 37/38 league games there? Yes

I know that Rodgers isn’t going anywhere and I genuinely want to be proved wrong about him being on a downward trajectory with our club whilst also have this view -

Even a rational BR out can credit Rodgers for getting us in that position but not also doubt certain decisions that OUR manager made that caused a shortfall when all is said and done.

Also, well done for glossing over my second message about THIS season.

Got to love a bit of bias on here 🤦🏻‍♂️

I still get surprised by how much you lot care about media interviews... They are meaningless box ticking exercises!

A manager will rarely say what they really think or what they want to say in the media. It's just the same regurgitation of catchphrases and "we go again"

It's an obligation they have to do for the PC washed premier League, don't take it as gospel

I have said this and totally agree.

My only gripe is that Rodgers doesn’t just spout off the same nonsense - “We’ll go back again tomorrow and work on it” etc etc

But often goes on the charm offense of the other club/offends us by saying stuff like we were happy being in the league he got there etc.

We should get one of the new breed of young managers like Leeds have, or a really famous ex - player like Everton or Villa or Palace.....oh, wait

Jesus some of you are so dramatic

To be fair, sacreblue is consistent - his every opening gambit is dramatic, even when posing a question.

Why do fans still genuinely believe that the manager is responsible for all signings? They will get their way on 1 or 2 but the majority will be from the clubs tried and tested model.

You only have look at some of our signings who were linked to us prior to the change of managers that we then go on to sign that proves its a process that takes time to track and complete.

I don't trust Rodgers in the market at all but neither do the club, its been reported.

Thank God for that!

I wouldn't say he exceeded expectations, they were high as we had brought him in to put us there, the first season we gave away top 4 was disappointing but we moved on and thought next season we will keep hold of it. To go on and let it slip again was inexcusable, from then it has just been negative football, negative subs. The losing at the last minute/last game started has started to become the expectation. That to me tells me it's time for him to be moved on.

There is plenty to criticise him about, I've done so very strongly on here for a long time. But if you think the club signed him and tasked him with getting us top 4 or 5 I think you are very much wrong. They don't give him the budget to do that, simple as that. So anyone expecting that is totally deluded, no matter what he's paid.

That's why this summer terrifies me if he's allowed anywhere near having final sign off on players. It could potentially set us back years. Whether he's hear or not, the club have to stick to the principles that gifted him this squad to work with.

Why do you think they'll let him? It's widely regarded last summers window was a failure and that we will be tweaking our recruitment processes again, I.e. they will be heavily driven by the model we have for identifying players who fit exactly what we need rather than picking up PL experience.

He won't get to choose, he'll have a say but there's absolutely no way he'll be given free reign, although he's not in any danger of being sacked yet there's been a lot of meetings this season about what's gone wrong and he can dress it up as not being that bad but he's been told.

Music to my ears, I'll believe it once the summer has happened and I see the proof with my own eyes though :D. I can't handle another Perez or Vesty mate! haha

The moves this season at least show that the higher ups have woken up a bit and are taking back control. One thing that impresses me is that they're happy to accept mistakes have been made and genuinely use them to improve themselves going forwards.

I'm honestly just waiting for us to sign Ricky Lambert and Peter Crouch to alleviate out set piece issues.

So what you're saying is that bar signing players (which is a club responsibility), Rodgers is a much superior manager to Puel?

Yes and five additions to the squad with no departures last summer - only Lookman has become a first team regular.

I mean I'm probably setting myself for a huge fall here and we'll sign a load of pony. We are more than capable of doing so, look at our transfer window in 2016. I'm really hoping Callum Smithson is given the chance to be listened to, he's stepped up in recent months and has been a really highly thought of scout and analyst here who's progressed. He'll not be suggesting Delph and John Swift put it that way.

We aren't some little insignificant club any more, that's a ridiculous argument that is completely debunked by the fact we are the sixth most successful club of the Premier League era, and we went into this season as the fifth best side (at least) and as FA cup holders. So to come out of the season with an 8th or 9th place finish is just a disappointing failure that must not be allowed to be repeated.

....there are going to be reasons for not achieving what we set out to do and you have to take those reasons into consideration!!!

I am not looking to sack the manager for finishing 8th or 9th, there will have to be reasons why we have struggled. There can be injuries to important players throughout the season and other mitigating circumstances.

If the reason however becomes incompetence, then you will have a reason to question going forward with this person in charge.

Agreed, I don't mind finishing around Mid table in the top division, as historically that's a great finish for LCFC.

I do however feel that with the quality of players available, we have disappointed in every competition we have entered this season, like you say, there have been factors which have not helped results, however this assumes that all the other clubs, were also not effected to a similar degree that we were?

Sadly BR will be given the opportunity to craft a team for next season.

I live in hope, that the many faults that exist under this regime, will be better repaired or fixed enabling us to progress.

I have no hope that the style of play will improve however, so get used to pointless possession again next season.

As much as I have my concerns about the manager going forward, it would just feel wrong to me that Leicester could sack a manager after finishing in the top half, even if it doesn't tell the full story. They won't sack him anyway. As I have said previously, I am more than happy for him to stay if he addresses our biggest issues.
